Airforce AF Texan help....

My .457 Texan with the CF Bottle and TX2 Valve is leaking. It is leaking from I guess its called the Top Hat. I try to fill and the air escapes thru the valve. I have tried opening the breech and leaving it open, pulling the valve as far forward as it will go, leaving the breech open, but still seems to be letting all the air go straight through. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any. Thanx.

The Texans Top-Hat does not close the valve automatically when the tank is completely out of air, meaning there is no spring to close the valve. You'll need to open the breach to access the top-hat and physically close the valve. To do this you will grab the top-hat with your hand and pull to the fully closed position, towards the chamber/front of your rifle. Then leave the chamber open and fill the rifle up. After the rifle has pressure you can close the chamber, don't forget to de-cock if you wont be shooting anytime soon. This p[process is for an empty tank, so it only needs to be done if the rifles air has been completely depleted.

What rob said. Do you know anyone with a tank that could help? Did you ever dry fire the gun? I’m more concerned on why it is leaking from the tophat to begin with.
The Texans top-hat is not spring loaded, you must manually pull the top-hat closed prior to filling a tank that has been depleted.
