Hi,

This is the breather hole for the Bellville Spring part of the regulator. As stated by bchannell above, air leaking from here means one of three o rings on the regulator are bad. Below is a video from Sub12Airgunners on rebuilding the regulator. They do it for an Impact, but the process is identical.

Unfortunately for you one of the three o rings it could be is the one in the receiver block body (#3 in cut-away drawing below - 10x1.5 NBR90). Jeff (of Sub12Airgunners) shows how to get this out, but it is a PIA to do. I bought a set of Jeweler's glasses (with light) and found that it is way easier to replace when you can see it. Also got some brass picking tools. You absolutely don't want to scratch the inside of the block.

The other two it could be the one on the end of the piston (#1 below - 4x1.5 NBR70) or the one on the inside of the regulator body (#2 below - also a 4x1.5 NBR 70) both are easy to replace. I would replace both of those first and put the reg back in to see if it still leaks before going after the PIA one.

Good luck and try to enjoy getting intimately familiar with your expensive toy.

Cheers,
Greg

Uh oh! I just realized by looking at the picture you provided that your Crown is likely a MkI. If so, it is possible that the regulator body is the smaller 8mm one instead of the newer 10mm one. That would mean the sizes of the o rings I provided are incorrect. You'll have to check your rifle out as the later MkI's had the bigger regulator.

Sorry 'bout that.

Cheers,
Greg

Hi everyone. I really hope some one can be my savior. my FX crown was leaking in the same Breather hole. I replaced just about every single O-ring in the regulator. I replace the two in the Regulator Kolv as i could see the top one was broken upon removing it and the one in the regulator screw. Put it back together, leaked the same. I then replaced the ones in the regulator Hus and it still leaks the same. I have the 16mm checkvalve plastic rod and 10mm rings. Even though i think mine may be a first generation because od the dove grooves. I am so frustrated with my crown. I had the O-ring kit but cannot tell the sizes by looking at them. I tried to compare the new ones with the old ones i removed. How do I measure the O-rings to make sure i am putting in the correct one. Could the cause of the leak be somewhere else? Help help Help

You forgot to replace the O ring down in the receiver block. I hope you didn’t scratch any of the reg surfaces.
