Daystate Daystate air wolf OR red wolf?

Sherz, two different rifles.

Primary difference is the redwolf is a newer version of the airwolf with the expected updates. I have redwolfs, brilliant rifles. And I agree with trompis that the .177 with slugs is very good, but would have to somewhat disagree with trompis that the 3 settings are not sufficient. I use mine to shoot many different disciplines / events, usually with solid results from the rifles. There is an aftermarket board you can get with more programming options, or you can get a daystate programmer to change the settings in the redwolf board to your liking. Very tuneable.

As to the airwolf, a good friend here in town shoots an airwolf, won the most recent field target match here and is always in competition for a win with it.
 
The Airwolf is a Mk4 board and the Red Wolf is the Mk5 board. Internal design is similar but the Red Wolf has improvements beyond the board to allow MUCH more power. The battery is likely the other biggest difference, with the RW using a more current and easily attainable style. A Heliboard is available for either, which gives 12 independent power levels that are adjustable with the trigger.
If you're looking at an Air Wolf, an advantage would be lower cost, I believe, but they're pretty comparable within the Air Wolf's power levels, so could be a better bargain. Personally, I wouldn't be worried about parts as they're both mechanically simple and robust and the Heliboard is available if the electronics had a problem...

I have an Air Wolf and it is one of my best rifles. Half the price of a pre-owned Red Wolf. Accurate, and easy to shoot. Quite a looker as well. It is one of two electronic guns (Mk4 is the other) and it does everything I need it to do. Fantastic trigger, two fixed power settings and heirloom quality (same with the Mk4)
