I was wondering if any of our members are going to the NRA exhibition in a few days? Seems like some interesting airgun companies will be there and Umarex is apparently releasing "industry changing" model.

I am so jealous..could you be so kind as to check out the Valka Airgun booth and snap a few pics if possible? They are going to be right next to Smith & Wesson.
They are the new full auto airgun in .25 that's been discussed here a number of times.
I would greatly appreciate it.

Last time it was in Dallas, Pyramyd air had a shooting gallery set up in a ballroom along the front hallway before the entry to the actual convention. Got a chance to walk in and try several that I had been eyeing in the catalog.

Off the top of my head I saw Uramex, Diana, Pardini, & JTS. If you are going to look at air guns not worth you time. I went in 2005 when it was in Dallas and there was more. Overall I was disappointed. Nothing to do with the NRA or the facility. It’s just the firearms industry as a whole. It’s basically all AR15 and tactical type firearms now. Nobody makes anything nice or pretty anymore. I was in and out in a little over two hours. For example Daniel Defense had a super nice booth. Like walking into a store. I know they have a good reputation but who cares when all the booths around them also have AR15’s. They all looked decent but at the end of the day they all looked the same. Glock. I am a fan. I own Glocks. A Glock is a Glock. That goes for every other plastic frame, striker fired pistol. It’s all the same. No beauty. Just mass produced, cranked out stuff with no soul. I handled the new Colt Pythons. I love Colt. These new Pythons aren’t like the old ones. My favorite booth from today was a collector that had dozens of old Steven‘s falling block target rifles. They were all beautiful and nicely displayed. Next in line was Pardini. Nice stuff. There was some other nice stuff but I would say a 10% nice stuff 90% tactical type stuff that all looks the same.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences Brazosbynemo. It's always good to hear old-timers talk (I assume you have a long standing interest and experience with both powder burners and air guns). Part of me agree with you that a lot of modern manufactured guns have no soul.
