Unwlecome pellet sorting

I bought 4 tins of beeman 15.2g round nose pellets at a local gun shop today. Upon opening the first tin, it is about half pointed pellets which don't work for me in the rifle I bought them for.

and there is also this guy on the right...which is neither

They are $7 a tin for 175 pellets in a tin

Did you notice if the bad pellets were all obviously so (like in the pic), or if the "good ones" also needed to be sorted?

Honest question. But for me this falls into the category of "lesson learned, move on". Crossman and Gamo pellets are pretty well available and consistent.

I have had the rare pellet with a damaged skirt before with these but that's it. With the low count in the tins, price wise they are on par with premium stuff like jsb. I got 1 rifle that prefers these over anything...won't shoot cphp worth a darn

I would shoot the little runty pellet right into a bullseye at 5 yards. Just so he could live out his destiny and show all the other pellets that despite all their mockery, he was as good as the rest of them. He’d be the hero that day and his legacy would live on as a reminder to all the other runty pellets.
I did save it off to the side....his hero moment may come yet!

You forgot to include his walker! He had a bullseye in him, but he needed the walker!!
It true...unfortunately so is the human response to his tragic end. The ricochet stories will be embellished every time they get retold eventually obtaining horrific tragedy status. The world will look on future generations of runty misfit pellets with fear and uncertainty. Destined to be throw into smelting pots, imprisoned in sinker molds and thrown to the bottom of a lake Without ever being given a chance to shine.

Back in the 60's Milbro were the only pellets available locally and there were always a couple of deformed ones in the box. We called them "mutants" and shot them anyway.

Makes me think on how, out of ignorance, I fed my FWB 124 whatever pellets were available or on sale and never thought how different brands, styles or weights would affect accuracy.

Now I search for the best pellet for each airgun, quick check each new tin and for special work (sighting in, shooting for best groups and hunting) I'll only use sorted pellets. Casual shooting/plinking is straight from the tin.

Cheers!
