N/A Notos or pp750

I didnt include a poll because I'm 98% sure it would be overwhelmingly Notos based on existing threads.

That said, I'd like to do a comparison pros/cons of each one before making a decision. I get that they're both basically the same thing, but I'm looking for the interesting differences between them.

For reference, I'm looking for a 30-35 yard plinker that is a small carbine style for my kiddo, and can be fun for me too as a bit of pistol. Something that has some fun customization options. Most importantly is the potential to be a bottle gun for max plink between refills.

pp750 differences (that i consider a plus):
comes in .177
right hand lever

What do y'all got as notable differences in the platform as to why one should be chosen over the other?

My Notos came defective and had to be replaced. I don't like it's left hand lever, plus open sights can only be used in pistol configuration.

I got it for chipmunks control, who destroy my backyard, but it proved to be less efficient than a big bore AEA that I discharge without slug right into the hole. Chipmunks die from concussion.

There's a couple of comparison videos on YT. Watched those before I made my purchase. I got the Notos. Many folks dislike that LH cocking lever while others absolutely adore it. I have gotten used to it. For me, it's not too bad. The gun IS very accurate. It's light and easy to shoulder. I was convinced that I wouldn't like it but it shocked me. I haven't even had a problem with the finicky magazine. my ONLY complaint is that I only get 19 shots before I hit the reg. Yes, the bottle upgrade is coming soon.
MSRP is $269 and it can be had for less but I ordered mine from AoA. I did so because they fill every PCP gun they sell and leave it overnight, then shoot it to test for accuracy and function.

It's a wash. Get the one you like!

I've done hundreds of Notos bottle conversions, I've done a dozen PP750 bottle conversions and if you want to do an FX Liner/barrel kit in the future, it's the Notos all the way.

If you want an extended solid barrel, it's the PP750 all the way!

Bottle conversion only? Same/same.

I have owned my PP 750 for a few years now and I love it.
I have added the gauge block (larger plenum) and recently a 10.5" barrel. I did some porting and it shoots AA 16 pellets at 21 ft lbs. Very accurately for 20 + shots.

I recently also adapted a biathlon lever.

I like the collapsible stock of the PP and the fact that I can easily shoot with or without an ldc.

The Notos is ready to go with built in ldc, non collapsible stock and a good power level, with a good shot count as well.

The PP750 is a good fit for me, I did spend some money to get to where it is today and the Notos does not need any of that.

I would recommend either one depending on the need for compactness.

The compactness is just a need for a nice, light, front yard plinker for my kiddo who's still short enough and weak enough that a heavier gun is tough to shoot without someone kinda holding on so he doesn't drop it while reloading (using shooting sticks most of the time).

also, being able to be pistol friendly for myself. no need for 'power' so much as ...can hit 2.5" steel at 35y reasonably well. and ability to put a bottle so we get more than 20-30 shots per fill.

I have both and can recommend both. A few differences you missed:
- Notos has picatinny rail, even though it's made from plastic, this is much better than dovetail rail like the PP750.
- The Notos standard stock is much nicer and cleaner look than the wire stock of the PP750. Not relevant if you plan to do a Buck Rail AR conversion. Other than that I sold the Notos stock to a PP750 owner.
- Notos has the 'free' molded moderator. If you remove it carefully it can be threaded to 1/2 unf and with the subscriber 3d print insert it's really quiet.
PP750 has the solid barrel that I want to replace. More accuracy and air efficiency are what I'm aiming at. Might be I take an Weihrach barrel and have it machined to fit the PP750.

What did this kind of setup end up cost range wise? Trying to compare getting something like this and a few basic mods vs a used slightly higher end rifle that is ready to go. Mods can be a black hole but where's that break point of maybe consider something higher end?

He's got a lot going on! Probably $800 or more into it.

I provide a basic Z-block conversion like the blue drop-block with the plenum and larger bottle for $400.

There is also other furniture on his guns that are nice to have.

Modifications are a black hole indeed! But I did not do too bad with these and I liked the project. The mods cost this:

- carbon bottle + drop block €170 from Aliexpress
- Buck Rail AR kit €95 including import duties and tax
- buffer tube and stock €35 from Wish
- FX cocking handle €35

So around €335/$363 per gun and the Notos has the c88machining plenum and shroud adapter for another €85.

Could've bought (another) high end airgun but where's the fun in that?

That's not too bad and modding can be half the fun! I'm still new to this world so deliberation has me swinging between options.

What is the FX cocking handle you referred to?
I bolted a biathlon adapter to my cocking lever but a factory piece like I see on your PP would be much better.

It still requires some work with an angle grinder and drill and isn't a straight drop in. These are the parts you need:
  • FX 20398 Sidelever for FX Maveric, Wildcat MK3, Fx crown and FX streamline
  • FX 19611 Crown, Impact, Wildcat, Maverick Charging System Handle
  • FX 19682 Socket head cap screw M3x16
The handle touches the magazine and the sidelever needs to be shortened, and I tapped a new hole with m3 thread. Firewalker is bending them so they stay out of the way, so that's another approach to making them fit the Notos.
