FX I simply can’t resist new tech! FX DRS

Ok you shot it..... now take it apart!

I am curious what the barrel looks like. We know it has the liner system, but what does the sleeve it slides into look like? A thin wall like the panthera? Or thicker?

Hopefully this is what you wanted to see

It may strengthen the outer barrel, but remember there is still a gap between the barrel liner and the outer housing. That is why FX also sells the carbon sleeve.

Yes! And that is why I always install/epoxy carbon sleeve liner. At least to me it fixed all the issues I had with orings.

It’s unclear exactly how the DRS is coming tuned from the factory. I received my .22 cal 500mm DRS shooting the 18 grain pellets at 900 ft./s, others received theirs shooting the 15.9g or 14.3g at the same velocity.

So I figured I’d put mine over the chronograph to see how many shots I’m actually getting. Looks like exactly 30 shots off a 230b fill with an average of 898 fps. I think thats pretty good considering it only has a 200cc cylinder.

Looks like it dropped off the reg about 135b.

I wonder what the shot count is with either the 15.9g or 14.3g pellets at the same speeds?

Nice, very nice! Thanks for posting Michael!

I'm looking for a light, quick handling airgun for off hand plinking and as a carry-around stalking rifle for squirrels. Been mostly using springers in this role, figure that the DRS will be an ideal PCP for this job.

For most cases I prefer picatinny for mounting scopes but recently had a problem mounting a MTC COPPERHEAD to the Avenge-X. The picatinny on the rifle and rings, plus the short tube on the compact COPPERHEAD scope severly limited where the scope could be mounted.

The bad news is that I needed to get a standard scope for the Avenge-X, the good news is that I already have a nice, light scope for the DRS. Glad that the DRS has a Dovetail!

Planning on getting a .22/600mm DRS when they are available in Canada. Figure that the extra 100mm will net me a bit more velocity plus more volume in the tube for a slightly higher shot count.

Cheers!
