FX FX Airguns DRS Pro: How Significant is This Really?

There is not a barrel on earth, that wont change POI, if you bump it hard enough!
You said it already. Do you want to say it again? And again and again?

Did you even read what I said above? If you bump it hard enough you say. Did you read what I said, what I said, what I said, ..........

Just slap a FX with a handkerchief and it will POI shift. Take my Gamo and use the barrel as a crowbar, drive in some nails with the barrel, try to shop off a tree branch with it, .... and it will stay zeroed. Did you read what I said?: I did bump my Artemis barrel against a tree or something a few times and when did a test shot it was still zeroed, ..... Did you read what I said?

Enjoy your Gamo!

Its called being an "FX Fan Boy" ......and the term is "Being in Denial" ..

POI Shift is "FX",s biggest Achilles Heel !
Based on your constant negativity, its obvious that you are extremely frustrated with your customized FX barrel.
Have you considered maybe going to a oem FX barrel?
Or a professional tool and die machinist, to get it straightend out, and back to factory specs?

Ha Ha..
Mate.... I have a bog standard M3 as well as my modded M3......Guess what the STD M3 has POI shift.. 3 mates have M3,s as well in STD trim...guess what, yep POI shift.
One has been so frustrated with it ( he Hunts Primarily) , he just sold it and purchased another PCP Airgun...

BTW..... I am a Tool Room Machinist with my own Engineering Business..

What was the first place guy shooting? Wat were they all shooting, I can't find that info
From what I understand, the 1st place winner was useing a FX, and 2nd place winner had a Red Panda at the recent 2024 NAC event.
The last few years, it seems this information is becoming less transparent on the internet, and not as easy to follow, unless your present at each event.
Im not sure if its intentional, or simply a lack of internet record keeping?
The results are posted, but the results do not include information on the rifle, caliber, or ammo used.
I will because it is accurate and much more reliable than any new FX. And the Gamo don't suffer from POI shifts like FX do.
You said that already!
How did your "Team Gamo" do, over the past few years, at major long range events such as EBR, NAC, or RMAC ?
Any top 10 finish's ?
Any finish's at all, in the past 5 years?

I have had a Crown, a Maverick, a Dreamline GRS , a Wildcat M11 bottle and now a DRS. Never had a leak so far. I installed a barrel band on the Dreamline for insurance but haven’t had a POI issue with any of my FX guns. But I handle them tenderly And don’t pick them up by the barrel. I have friends that have replaced their barrel with Walther barrels and swear by them. Had them custom made . This new DRS barrel system is supported by the stocks forearm so it might be the least prone to POI issues. We will see. Also I read the usual haters saying the DRS has a leaking problem. I have been following all the threads on the DRS and there have been 3 guns reported with a leak issues. Sounds like the same issue. It’s funny how three guns with leaks makes this new DRS prone to leaking any more than any other make PCP mentioned with a leak Right out of the box.

I said it again because you repeated what I already reacted on.
Did I say anything about competition with Gamo. I talked about not having POI shifts like FX. Don't put words in my mouth I did not say.

You do realize competitions are just bragging rights right? I can care less about who wins a competition with what gun and many of us out there agree. To me it's not real world shooting. Impressive absolutely but not entirely realistic for the majority of people. Personally as a pester/hunter I don't get sighters, wind flags to show wind speeds or time to check my zero or anything. 1st shot is only one that matters. I'd love to see a competition where you take your gun out of your case, setup and you get 25 pellets to make your 25 shots no sighters or anything. EFT and PRS are more realistic in that regard IMO. Enjoy what you'd like but the airgunning world doesn't revolve around competitions only a small percentage and just because an FX has won more doesn't mean there better guns overall. Just different. They don't work for my uses as I treat my guns more like a real firearm not needing to be babied. Others do baby their guns and there entitled to do that. We're all in this for different reasons but we all enjoy airguns

I just re-watched Matt Dubbers 2 videos (Part 1, and Part 2) on setting up and fine tuning the DRS Pro.
Very impressed with the way the Pro version is enginered to adjust to each individual person, as well as different projectiles.
The trigger on the PRO is adjustable forward and aft, to fit different peoples hands.
Im not sure if the classic version offers this same (length of pull) adjustment or not???
He basically choose a particular projectile, and then step by step, he fine tuned the DRS to shoot a particular projectile with extreme precision, and then went on and tightened up his groups, by further fine tuning the extreme spread.
His explainations, and the way the DRS responded to his simple tuning procedure, was very clear, and straight forward.
Great videos, for those interested!

I saw that videos the day each was posted.
Did you see that he did some aftermarket changes? Different barrel than stock and added a plenum gauge. And to get to the regulator adjustment he had to remove the chassis and shoot without it to get the setting right. That is what everybody try to get away from.

My goodness. I feel I walked into a high school Ford vs Chevy conversation.
I don't think any of us live in a Communist nation, therefore we have the ability to choose. If you don't like a product...Don't buy it/sell it.
The DRS is still very new. My barrel seems extremely robust. I think it will be a great platform. If others do not like it... WHO CARES? I didn't buy it for them.
