N/A PCP suggestions around $700

Shorty,
Picked an M60B Snowpeak .35 from Krale in March for $610. Newer Snowpeaks have pre-installed male foster fitting, Krale is currently selling out old "remove-bottle-to-fill" style so call first before any Krale order on any caliber, you'll want newer style. 500cc bottle is HEAVY aluminum, rated @ 250 BAR fill, carbon-fiber replacement bottle would be nice for woods carry. I also vote for the snowpeak m60b from air archery fun. got mine about 2 months ago or so. I ordered it with two extra mags. Recently purchased a 420cc carbon fiber bottle and it fits like a glove and slightly lighter. Also has the quick fill standard on the one I purchased. Recently seen some info on the snowpeak max1. I guess its supposed to be an upgraded m60 with a large plenum for more power?

$600.00, not $300.00, Wes will have them in-house in a couple weeks, they are through customs.

Yes, 9lb 12oz.

Or a hybrid: $250 for the gun, all the parts and labor, $600.00 total.

6lb 2oz!

How hard is it to shorten the barrel and what effect would that have on accuracy at 50-100 yards?

I once bought a used .22 Compatto bottle gun with Scope for $600. They are great guns, very dependable and usually not overpriced on the used market. 7.5#ish.
At that price range ($700) you have a lot of options, good luck making a decision.
When you do find something you like, check out Pyramid and the other retail sites to verify that you can get parts for the gun you choose.

Snowpeak seems to have noticed their guns have quite small plenums. I used an aftermarket plenum (about 35ccs) to get my P35-25 up to about 50 fpe. The stock plenum was less than 15ccs. The newer P35X is advertised as having a 65cc plenum. That should be plenty for even a 25 caliber. I read somewhere that 1cc of plenum per fpe is about right. Seems reasonable to me. With that logic the plenum I added to my P35 would be about right for my P35-22 and is a bit small for my 25. The new P35-25 would be about right for a 25 caliber. But FX uses 60cc plenums on their smaller calibers. The P35X is also in this price range, I believe and would be a nice gun. Wood stock, 530mm barrel, still around 6 lbs. If I'm right about the plenum benefit it should reach around 60 fpe in 25 and probably 40 fpe in 22. Plenty to push the heaviest for caliber pellets to close to 900 fps.

Parts availability for SPA guns is an issue but Krale can get them if you are patient. But all mine have really needed was O-rings. You can get valves aftermarket. They certainly are not perfect guns but I think they are a great option in the 500-1000 market.

Can the cylinder on the M60 tube versions be easily removed & upgraded to bottles?
This should be easy as Wes sells them with the bottle and you can also get the tube if you want that also.
Here is the tube kit that he sells for it. So I assume that all you would need is the adapter that connects on the bottle and attaches to the airgun. I dont have a part number or where they sell them. If i was looking for one i would contact whoever sells the complete rifle in this case Wes at Air Archery Fun
