Back in Action

Hello everyone, after a long tough few months I was finally able to get back out. Life changes, are I am engaged, fiancee is moving to USA over the summer all goes well with her visa, USCIS gave us the approval 10 days ago, now it is up to the US embassy in the Netherlands.

This weekend the BKR Ranger 22 cal and I went up to my permission in up north, previous visits last year averaged 30 plus pigeons, plus others per visit, and this weekend showed the same numbers. I left my place in New Hampshire in the late morning and travelled the few hours up to my permission, this was a weekend trip so I got a hotel close by.

Last year I found a permission in up north with 100s of pigeons and a grateful dairyman to have someone come clear the pigeons more quickly than the local cats, birds of prey and etc could do. Of course I had donuts with me on each visit, and over a few months I took out well over 100 pigeons and today, "almost" looked I didn't do anything last year. The dairy has about 300 to 400 head of cattle, and sits on 100s of acres in a beautiful area of up north.

In previous posts, I have shown the piles of pigeons removed from the dairy, long story short, I was too lazy to do that trip. (Disclaimer, all pigeons culled were removed from the paddocks and put in behind the "poop pond" for local wildlife to have for dinner.)

When I arrived at the dairy, I had a new scope on the Ranger, a Vector Optics Gen 2 4 to 16 x 44.Veryon, IR. I set up a target to sight in, I started with Hades, using yesterday. Today, I was out of hades, and thought to try the Crossman Hps which had done great in the past, well today for some reason they were all over the place. (Any thoughts?) So I went with the go to JSB diablos 18 gr.

Yesterday, I took a total of about 25 birds and today about 20 plus. The dairyman told me do what I do, clearing pigeons, once his wife told me during a visit, and I quote, "Kill them All!!!". I roamed around the dairy with the Ranger, which in 22 cal is perfect for this kind of work. I know there is a POS, but to be able to lower the FPE to 12ish from 18ish.

So for a walk around in and outdoor pigeon / vermin pester the BKR Ranger in 22 cal is hard to beat.
