Benjamin MARAUDER.22 WITH LOTHAR WALTHER BARREL ACCURACY!!!!

I have four .25 Marauders. The LW barrel is not an option. Three are Crosman and one is the Green Mountain barrel. The Crosman .25 barrels are equally accurate to the GM and none will shoot any slug thus far with any accuracy. But with pellets, especially JSB 34s, they are accurate. I have heard urban legend that the .22 and .177 Crosman barrels are not as good as the .25, I have no way of confirming that. I can measure the accuracy of what I have and it is very, very good and consistent with no random fliers.

Thanks 👍

Six Walther barrels in house, four are Walter’s from Crosman. None of the Crosman barrels that I have or have had come close to the accuracy of the Walther. Also, they like most pellets I feed them.

i still have one Crosman barrel on one of my Prods…not accurate, but has recorded the most chipmunk kills LOL.

Small sample size, but that has been my experience.

Will the standard Maurader fit a SAM?
The .22 barrel was redesigned for all Marauder platforms during the semi-auto development. As a matter of fact the new .22 barrels start with a SAM prefix. So any factory barrel that’s older then SAM would mount but not work as well. Current ones will.

Have 3 gen1, .177, .22, .25. How to tell what's what?
With Gen 1 it is simple - unless somebody changed the barrels, the .177 and .22 were made by Crosman and the .25 is a Green Mountain barrel . . . . I'm a Gen 1 shooter too; I don't have a .177, but my .22s have upgraded barrels (one an LW, the other a Jim Gaska Hammer Forged), and the .25 is the stock barrel.

Green mountain .25’s have a counterbore at the muzzle. This is the standard GM crowning. This also hold the same with most gen1 Bulldogs till the middle of the Covid area. LW was brought in due to lack of barrel production and remains to this day. Only the new M257 right now have GM barrels till LW’s shipment comes in.
.177 and .22 LW’s barrels are marked by a ring on the face of the breech end. This is for quick identification at the plant.

Multicaliber first gen Marauder owner. Green mountain barrel .25 is extremely accurate. i sent the .17 and .22 i have to Greg Davis who tuned and machined these 2. He lapped and polished the barrels and cut new crowns( 11degree target) and they have shot stellar ever since. Still i wish i had opted for the LW barrel option ....
the crossman barrels can be made to shoot though is the takeaway
