Yeah I think so also and if they become available I probably get one even if I would prefer if the had the rear palm swell like real 1911 grips have,

Having said that the way I shaped the grip on my shorty it's extremely comfortable feels great.

I will reshape the other grip that originally came with my shorty the same way but this time will also take off the finger groves.
That's the problem with grips...it is such a personal preference. Also why it's difficult for me to want to make/sell grips for the GK1.

My personal fav grips are the cz's, VP9, stacattos, and have my flak jacket on for this one - the original XD.

This is probably my favorite printed vertical grip (sorry, upside down), and love me some polycarbonate for grips.

Polycarbonate is about the only thing I'll print grips from - holds up to the abuse and has about zero flex to it. GF Nylon is a good contender as well. Polycarbonate has something like a 250F heat deflection and is super hard.

Agree, grips are very subjective but I bet you if you produce a 1911 grip that is a drop in the Huben pistol you will sell a bunch of them,.....I put my pre-order in with you now :ROFLMAO:

I also really like my GEN 2 Glock 19 grip ( no finger grooves ) but I guess for the size of the Huben pistol the 17 would be better.

Agree, the 17 would be better suited vs the g19. Grip placement gets awkward with all the stuff the GK1 has going on under there as well and they tend to look like they "don't belong" with the higher profile of the GK1 block...I like stuff to also look...pretty 😂

I know there's that guy that cncs a 1911 grip for em. Although, my preference is a polymer based grip. More of a by-product of where I live though...in MN...it's cold 5-6 months out of the year. 🥶

You have me wondering what a stacatto-esqe grip profile would look/feel like on a GK1 now.........to me their grips are the up-to-date/modernized 1911. Sigh...now I may wander down the project rabbit hole.....

Finally got my Midwest Industries shoulder stock, etc., to almost complete my carbine setup using the Buck-Rail grip & pic rail mod. Right now, I'm just doing some mockup's to finalize the look, feel and functionality. While the 3D print quality of the Buck is close to being one of the best I've seen. They also have excellent customer service & very responsive support.

Conversely, however, I unfortunately loathe having to point out, in my humble opinion, and "anecdotal speculation", that I'm afraid the pic rail section, quite possibly - may not be able hold up to the repeated folding / unfolding and shouldering the stock in any aggressive manner, for the long term. There is just too much play in it. It's also not fully secured and is basically free floating between the rear body block of the GK1, moving up to 1/8" (or more) when using the shoulder stock. I think if it sat flush to the GK1 body and were secured by the two bolts below the rear sight, this would eliminate the aforementioned movement, and likely cure any apprehension I have on it not potentially maintaining its' structural integrity.

Anyway, I really just wanted to post my images of the mod & current mockup, to share yet another configuration that might be of interest. I'm especially elated that when folded, the stock perfectly clears the manometer and mag (see 3rd image). The LOP, cheek pad and shoulder pad have multiple points of adjustment! And with the folding grip, this thing all folded up, as you can see, has a pretty compact footprint.

Other people might be different, but there are 18cm between my shoulder well and my cheek weld, and 3-4 cm from my cheek weld to my eye. A stock needs to mirror this, the top point being aligned with the sights. But because a lot of stocks are designed for recoil, the attachment point is low and high-mounted sights are assumed. This then puts the hinge too low in a lot of cases and/or makes for a bad or non-existent cheek rest.
I just ducktape extension bars and padding to the buttplates to extend them downwards, then wrap it all in camo tape - this only works for L-shaped stocks of course.

Also I would appreciate it if you could find out if there is any way to order outside of FB. For some of us Airgunnation is as close as we're willing to get to social media.
Little follow up..
Maker is in US, pictures don't really quite do his work justice and I can't post FB videos showing his obvious skills.
This week has been crazy busy for me, I'll be jumping on this first thing next week, try and get him over here to AGN to post up his video of him hand making these.

NMG in the picture or my grip..or cutting board😅

That looks just right ( minus the finger grooves ) ..........it would look fantastic on the Shorty.

Btw guys, quick question about the GK1. I need to replace the o-ring underneath that brass screw (the one hidden beneath the loading gate).
But the screw doesn't seem to want to come out. Is there something I need to remove before the brass screw is willing to come out? I don't want to apply too much force if not necessary.

You’re feeling *resistance from the o-ring against the threads. Just pull it out.

Great... they didn't inclide the brass screw o-ring in the spare parts package.

I don't want to degas and disassemble just yet, but when this moment comes I'll try to replace all o-rings with Viton ones, and probably all springs as well, assuming I can find similar sizes.
