Our match this Saturday is cancelled due to lack of shooters.
The NRL22 matches at my club get 30 shooters showing up. I seem to only get 4-6. Ugh!The modern man is way to invested in video games, sad.
I have been running benchrest here for 14 years. Originally ARA then added N50 when it started. New shooters seem to lose interest when competing against top shooters. To compete at a high level whether rimfire or pcp airgun is a considerable investment that most shooters are not willing to invest in. Whereas NRL22 attracts a lot of younger shooters that can do well with lower price guns. Never can understand why more shooters are not attracted to airgun. We have no shooters interested in piston type airguns.Don't give up. I started out with 4 or 5. Jumped to 13 one match then back to 5 or 6. Now holding around 8 to 12 with a couple new guys getting started. Hope to get in the 12 to 15 range. Big thing is get a guy behind an airgun. We are spring guns only. Most of our guys shoot other rifle disciplines. Several ranked number 1 or 2 in the country. Several of us are long time benchrest c.f. shooters who have national experience. One common theme getting a new guy shooting the first time....I never dreamed these things could be so accurate. Keep up the good work.
