I recently bought a used Cricket and I can only fill the the gun up once and the o-ring is damaged. Is this a common issue or is there something wrong with my fill probe. The probe itself looks a little beaten up but not too terrible. I don't know what type of o-ring they are but it feels like silicone. The guy who sold me the gun gave a few. Maybe they are too soft.

Just old and dried out O rings. Replace with fresh and give a little wipe of silicon lube and you should be good to go. I would assume that they were dry and the first fill just broke the camels back when pushing in the fill port.

Reading back through, have you already replaced them and this is what happens each time you fill? Doesnt appear so as looking at the o rings, there is no shearing off of material, and there are large cracks.

Honestly, those o rings look old as dirt. If the previous owner lived in arid climate it would age out o rings fast. Get new proper sized rings and give them a touch of silicone grease. If somehow this issue still persists, your fill port isn't lining up correctly and is mangling the o rings as the probe is put in.

I had a Cricket II and the fill probe had very close tolerance to the probe hole. If I didn't keep the o ring lubricated it would damage it very easily.
It should be a 1.5 x 3.5 MM

I agree with the guys above. I've had no issues with mine , but mine aren't as old as yours looks. If your replacement o rings were dried out before you put them on they may have cracked when you stretched them putting on probe. When you get the new ones lightly coat with silicone and store in a Zipp lock bag away from heat and sunlight.

I'll get some new orings and try it out. Also, these seem way too soft. I'll try some harder ones

I've been fortunate to get my hands on 5 cricket airguns and none of their fill probe oring were that color or type they've always been the black nbr70.

FYI, silicone has no practical shelf life limitation. Age isn’t the problem, it’s just that silicone has the poorest tear and abrasion resistance of any common O-ring elastomer. Buna-N or polyurethane will fare much better. However if the problem continues, inspect the fill port with the aid of magnification for a potential burr.

If you have the size I probably have a few I can send. PM me with size, your name & mailing address & I'll send some to you. Use a dab of silicone on them once you install. O-ring distributors are your best bet to get rings like those in bulk (10 or 20 at a time for cheap). Try Mcmaster-Carr, O-rings and More or The O-ring Store

Nearly all my rifles new or used, I order a huma air fill probe. I also buy all the o rings for the rifle and probe. I like to be ready. It’s never an if, it’s when. And it’s relatively cheap.
