To be clear, the barrel IS threaded for a shroud retaining nut. The nut can be replaced with an adapter (which comes with the gk1) that will allow the use of a moderator. The barrel itself is not threaded ‘for a moderator’.

Dave
Dave, yes you are correct, but there in lies the problem. That nut's primary purpose is to clamp the shroud to the receiver. HUBEN has also repurposed this nut to also be a moderator adapter. By doing this and the fact that all threads must have a running clearance, the adapter now can take on a potential misalignment with the barrel line because the shroud may not on some guns be square to the barrel. I have both a Version 1 and a Version 3 and they both suffered this misalignment issue. I have brought this issue up with Huben and am waiting for a response.

A harder shroud material and/or a larger shoulder surface with a shallow cone angle can fix this very easily.

I have no opinion on this, I was simply clarifying where/what the threads are for. I don’t use moderators.

I'm sorry, that is simply not true. Under no circumstances can a thread ever be a reference surface because of the required running clearance. Threads only can provide a clamp. There needs to be a reference surface to the barrel line and there is not one. If for instance, the face of the barrel could be referenced with a counterbore surface on the base of the nut's internal thread that could work, but as it is clamping on the shroud not the barrel, that won't work either.

i have shot 4 mags of cphp's with no problem ,except for a dumb as$ mistake of forgetting to close the loading gate & a few fell out of the back, yes the are a loose fit, if it ever stops raining here i will try them again.

If anyone wants to order from a3tactical for stock… just got a 10% off code …10OFF4REVIEW
Wish I had considered this. Ordered a JMac from OP at 10% off with an additional 10% stacked. Arrived with a stuck hinge and left on a UPS truck this morning. A replacement is on the way and I do prefer the JMac however at about $30 less the A3 is apealing.

Amazing,...the Huben pistol has only been out a short time and there's so much aftermarket products already for it as well as a lot of data and support videos.

This thing is going to go a long way,

Yes I just had time to mount my Huben3dparts.com rear picatinny mount and try out the carbine stock Andrew sold me. It only takes about 5 seconds to put in on and 2-3 seconds to remove it..
