TTTT, Thomas Tuner Testing Today

I shelved the tuner for now because we have a match this coming Saturday. This Thomas HPX shoots so darn well without one so I am likely just chasing fairy dust with the tuner anyways.

I like the ‘no tuner’ 25 shot one ragged hole group at 50y best! Tim, the four 8’s on the “242” N50 card look like the vertical vs. horizontal did you in. Pretty nice card!

The Jumbo and Jumbo Beasts didn’t shoot well.

Well dumb me, lol. You have a spare you could send me?

“This Thomas HPX shoots so darn well without a tuner….”

Agree, good luck with your match Tim! This one is outdoors right?
Hi @tommyb and thanks for the good luck because I'll need it. Yes, its our first outdoor N50 match of the season. The forecast is a bit nippy (31* - 50*F) with 12 MPH winds and 21 MPH gusts, but its the same conditions for everyone who eagerly shows up.

To me the purpose of a rifle be it air or powder is to hit what you aim for. If you shoot small groups but they impact at a random spot what is the point? The 10 dime target is a good example. Hitting the dime not so hard. Keeping every shot inside the dime to me shows real world skill. What impresses me with many of TThomas groups is they are dead centered in the 10 ring.

I expect overall scores may be lower ( I.e., first match of season, and pellets are really going to blow with that wind), but tomorrow will be a true test for best wind reading skills. This will be fun for you guys. High 220’s and mid 230’s could be great N50 scores tomorrow.

We put a full day in at the range today In prep for our N50 match tomorrow. We built 4 new wooden gear benches, a new wailing wall / scored target holder and modified 2 picnic tables to use as safe areas for rifle cleaning.
