An Alternative Pistol for PFT?

I just received an Epic Two .177 w/300mm barrel. I will not be able to set it up and test it for a few days, but as I was checking it out I noticed it might make a good alternative for Pistol FT. I have copied my initial impressions form my log below:

Epic Two .177– Received Mar 27, 2023
I received my Epic Two today. Impressed with fit and finish when I took it out of carrying case (came in a nice case). Included a tool to set the regulator, a set of replacement o-rings, 1 magazine and a fill probe. No manual included – had to download the manual from internet website (very good manual).

Seems a bit heavy at 7lb 11oz. I think the foldable stock may contribute to a lot of the overall weight so will take stock off and weigh the stock. Stock weighs 2lb 6oz.

Can’t test overall performance until scope rings arrive and weather cooperates. Measured from leade end of barrel to muzzle (end of shroud). It measured at 14-15/16”. Also measured from barrel center line (shroud center line) to bottom of arca rail. It measured at ~2 -1/2”. Looks like it meets the pistol FT requirements from a size perspective if the stock is removed.

Motorhead - It measures 20-1/4" from back of receiver to end of muzzle (stock removed). From lowest part of the grip to muzzle about 22- 1/2".

Sub12 Airgunners has an initial review of the sub12 fpe version that is very informative.

Grips rearward slope beyond receiver also counts in the LENGTH measurement ;)

I've had a similar thought about converting an Air Maks Katran C into a pistol. But then I remembered that I don't like shooting pistol field target, so spending $1300 on a gun for an event that I don't care for is dumb.
It is indeed very hard to shoot pistol HFT
And frustrating yet that’s why I like it ….
