N/A Best spring for buck

Thanks guys. I am looking at a 48 or Tx200 now. Do you guys feel like the 48 is overpowered for .177?
maybe , if i had a 48 i would shoot the heaviest .177 i could find .

not really a comparison two very different guns , If you can get the TX200 much better shootability .

Not to be a Diana 48 fan boy, however I have a TX200, a HW77, and a Diana 48. For the money a Diana is 1/2 the price of a TX. Yes it is more powerful, but it has basically the same feel, and the TO6 trigger is really good. I will admit the 48 is ugly compared to the 77 or tx, it is also longer but it does balance nice.

Chances are if you buy the TX you will tune it anyway because everyone I know does to include myself. So you could start off with the 48 for 1/2 the price and tune it down to 15 ftlbs and buy a scope, and you could do it all for the price of a TX200. The HW is not much less expensive than the TX, and out of the 3 rifles the HW is the most difficult to take apart.

All I am saying is if I could do it over I would have started with the 48 and a tune, and I could have saved a couple thousand dollars not getting a tx or hw.

My 48 in .22 makes 18 ftlbs with factory internals, the shot cycle is very noticeable however I do not have a problem with being accurate, but I also have put thousands of pellets through the TX and HW so I imagine my shooting skill has improved.

If you decide to pick any of the 3 I am sure you will be happy.

I will say though the best behaved spring rifle I have ever owned was a TX200 M3 in .22 which I sold like a dumbass. The statement “hold sensitive” almost did not apply to it even with factory internals.

I own all those springers,I think the 52-48 is better in .22,It is a powerful and good springer,it is side-lever,The HW77 and 97 are better,=underlever ,as is the HW 95,in my opinion. What I do like about my 52-48 is it is the most powerful of the lot. Anyhow the difference in the accuracy of underlever,side-lever or break barrel is not a factor for me .they all shot great, that said it is what is better for You=how comfortable are you shooting each springer, comfort makes shooting accurately easier, also the weight and balance,The HW95 swings better to me than the others.

i am all in for buying used, that is what I do for air guns and also I lot of my scopes.I usually find that a good used whatever is less than 2/3 price of new ,most times barely used. Got to be patient though and know what you are getting and who you are buying from.I say all this because there is enough "turnover" in air guns .Of course if you kn ow what you want and tend to keep it forever ,get it new,
