Slugs now allowed in 100 yard BR at Air Gun Oregon match May 2nd-5th

Wayne, I’ve been advocating for a scoring change for many years now, to bring the 100Y (EBR and RMAC) in line with the rest of the world.
I’d like to see for more than 25 shots (say a double shot target), to use the standard Benchrest convention and score the lower of the two shots minus 1.
Currently there is a -10 penalty for any shots over 25 in the scoring area. Last year when Monte and I scored the 100Y cards, we scored as real benchrest, not EBR/RMAC. Let’s continue to do it that way…
I'm fine with scoring like that.

Not that I’m agreeing that it’s needed, but I don’t see why it would be hard to police. Currently, 25 shot limit on the scoring field and no limit on the sighters. The proposal is for a 25+5 shot limit for the entire sheet. Any more than that in either case and the competitor incurs a penalty.
Yes, that's true, we can just count the shots in each section... but to me that has been an important part of the game.

It takes time, (more time with some equipment than others), to go to sighters and return to target, but the competitor might decide it's worth it in order to check on a wind shift. It sounds like you want to take that away. Again I think let time limit be the balancer.

Some competitors finish their card in like 7 mins. and still shoot a few sighters. I'm thinking that a 15 min. limit is the right spot, especially if we need to have more relays.

I don’t want to take that away. A reason you gave for not wanting to limit sighters was that it would be difficult to police. My comment was that I did not see any difficulty in enforcing it either way. I personally don’t care much which way it’s done.

I disagree. The WORLD and USA both use a 20 minute card. Why change? Makes no sense.

Sorry Scott, I was talking to Centercut with that comment

As a side note in benchrest scoring, I thought robert told me scoring on ebr was with a .35 plug. I am having some made up so need to verify. Thx.
Martin, I'd like for all the match venues to use the same plugs if possible, please send me a link so I can order whatever Robert and EBR is using too.

I'm not sure what they are using, but I am having a local machinist make a couple sets I designed Here is the one I am going to order. They area bout $80 a set, but they will last forever though.
