FX Anyone got there FX DRS in yet??

500mm....I will definitely be getting the carbon fiber 600mm sleeve later on after they hit the market. Just shooting pellets in this. Yeah a question about those mags....will the older mags work that came with the Crown mk2????
I think I saw a video mention that yes the older style Wildcat mags can work in the DRS. BUT I think they will require the new thicker cover plate piece as found on the Panthera series actions.

My Dreamline magazine works fine in the DRS. See my picture. With the Eagle Vision scope rings all the way down there is just 1/8” clearance to my scope. To me the scope is a little high with these rings mounted to the receiver. It would be more comfortable 1/2” lower. So a picatinny rail is not on my list. Perhaps with the low rail and low scope rings but then the larger magazine wont fit And your regulated to the small magazine that comes with the DRS. I’m going to be making a wood stock for mine incorporating the GRS grip design and will adjust the comb height to suit my set up now.

Hi Leatherman, would you please share a picture with the mini mag in your DRS. Could you also give us the scope ring height that would allow for the mini mag.
Thanks Brian

Here is some pictures . The Eagle Vision rings are set at 1” height above the top of the receiver. with the Small DRS mag in the receiver there is slightly over 1/2” between the scopes turret block and the top of the magazine. Now that is with a Hawke compact 44mm Airmax scope. Other scopes may have larger turret blocks. A half inch scope rings would probably work with my Hawke scope. If you add the low picatinny rail which I think is 1/4” , then you could go with a low set of rings say 1/4”. But you have to consider what front objective size your scope has. I’m not sure if a 50mm would still work with 1/4” scope rings. As I said this height is workable for switching between the Dreamline 18 mag and the DRS 13 mag. i just have to raise my face up to get a full line of sight with my jaw still on the stock. I just prefer a more face down , solid contact with a stock. People have different size faces and different length necks so one set up doesn’t fit everyone. I know because I make a living making and selling the Accu-Riser line of cheek pads and comb risers For all types of rifles.
Another thing that I just found on the magazines. My Dreamline mag fits so loose in the DRS that if you tilt the rifle to the right it will fall out. Yet the DRS mag is very tight in the receiver. I checked the measurements between the Dreamline and DRS opening and they are only a couple thousands of an inch difference. Same for the width of the magazines. The main difference is that the DRS mag has two small o rings imbedded in the cover where the Dreamline only has one. I would not shoulder the DRS on a sling with the Dreamline mag in it as is. I would like to hear from others how their 18 Dreamline/Crown magazines fit in the DRS. Also I decided to check the fit of the new 28 grn jumbo pellets and some 37 grain slugs I have in the DRS magazine. No problem. So i then tried them in the Dreamline magazine and they fit and function fine. I was not expecting that. I have no desire to shoot say over 30 grain ammo in this gun

Talon Tunes has 2 22cal 700mm HP with the large plenum. I think it looks a little odd. They don't have a pic of the full gun just the plenum part.

I like the look!
If you think it looks odd now, just wait until people begin putting regulator gauges protruding off the side of the plenum!
I cant wait to see projectile speeds and accuracy reports, with these SHP plenums attached.

Thanks for the photos.

I received an e-mail yesterday that HPP received their shipment. Hopefully, my .22 with 600mm barrel will ship out on Monday and I'll have it later this week!

I have an Element Helix scope with BKL rings that I moved from my Dreamline to put on the DRS, it should clear the larger magazines since it did on the Dreamline.

FX needs to make a plenum that's half the height of the SHP Plenum, it should still give a substantial performance increase over the stock plenum and look a bit more in proportion with the rifle!

I have a rechargeable digital gauge that should be here on Monday, I'll use it to check the regulator pressure and while tuning the regulator.

I second a middle sized plentum for the DRS. I see the large one being used on the DRS Pro to optimize the 700mm barrel with the slug liner And larger valve. For us wanting to set up the Classic .22 or .25 with the 600mm barrel to shoot medium weight slugs it is unknown yet but highly doubtful that the standard valve , pellet barrel and small plentum will do the job. More videos will be coming addressing this I’m sure. Until then I’ll experiment and see how well it performs as is. FX are you listening?

Update on my mates drs that dumped all its air after 30 shots and was sent for repair. The report has come back, reg pressure was lower than gauge reading causing the valve to open too far and get stuck. Hopefully it will not suffer anymore issues.

Bb
The fill pressure was below reg pressure. That is the obvious sign for that symptom. Did he try to refill it and try again ? Probably didn’t have an scba to give it a blast of air and reseal the valve pin ? Instances like this that lead to bad brand attitude when its operator error.

Nice video, but I think I'd rather see the video Matt Dubber did that had the short clip in this video. Looks like Matt was actually tuning it, not just talking about it! I did find the segment about trying different torque setting on the stock screw interesting. I doubt I'll run out and buy the DonnyFL moderator he was using, I think the plain empty can moderator or DonnyFL FX moderators will look nicer because I'm pretty sure they are the same diameter as the air cylinder!

I shot my DRS .22 600mm at 40 yards today. I’m sure I could do better as my right eye has many floaters that blur the target most of the time. I just had an operation on my left eye last week to remove floaters and it looks promising so far. I’ll get the right eye done in a month or two. I want this rifle set up to shoot heavy pellets or light slugs for use on groundhogs mostly. I have a Dreamline shooting Hades at 910 fps like a laser for pesting and shooting around the house. This DRS rifle was set up regulator at 110 bar with the hammer spring 5mm deep in the receiver. I shot a variety of ammo at this setting and got 41 shots before dropping off the reg. Pretty good. The best ammo turned out to be the JSB jumbo monster grand 28.5 grn and the JSB monster hades 25.39 grn with the FX hybrids a close 3rd. I then increased the reg to 125 bar and turned the hammer spring in to 7mm. Group’s tightened up but the shot count went down to 18 shots on a 230bar fill. I then increased the reg to 150 bar and got again great groups out of the JSB jumbo monster grands at 856 fps and 46 fpe. But shot count went down to 15 shots. The FX hybrids 22 grn look promising at 885 fps and 38fpe. I am a little disappointed at the shot count with the higher reg setting . I don’t know what would happen with a larger plentum. I also shots some AVS and Nelson’s slugs of different diameters and so far the .218 diameters do better. I dropped the hammer spring 1/2mm at 150 bar reg and I got two magazines - 28 shots . I’m staying with that for now waiting to see what others find what works for them. Curious to see what the huge larger plentum does for power and shot count. I figure the carbon fiber shroud will only add 4 to 5 more shots. Oh and I will add this rifle is loud.
