Airhunter Gerhard wins H&N Golden Achievement Award

Have you tried measuring the slugs?
No i have not tried something like that, i have mainly tried 16 and 20ers though here it also do not work in other brands, but 13 gr JSB KO and Zan are good but 13 gr H&N no go in my maverick.
First of all going strait from the others to H&N and they group like a foot from where JSB/Zan would hit, and they group bad.
I have seen the guy shoot 20Gr .177 just fine but replicating his settings he share, well still no dice for me.
To be fair i dont recall trying any H&N slug in my Vulcan 3

Getting a new rifle soon ( well hopefully ) will also get some tins of H&N again to try in that CUZ it is not FX or CZ barrel but LW Poly.
Also have to revisit heavier slugs in the Maverick but at slightly slower speeds than i have tried before, just to make sure i have not been overcooking my speeds though i dont think so.

Well Gerhard is shooting them in the heavy liner for .177 I have not had success with the regular liner and never got to try out the heavy liner. I'm getting an alpha barrel for my leshiy classic so hopefully it will like shooting them.

Indeed, and i am of course using the heavy liner.
STD liner shoot JSB & Zan slugs pretty well too but also not heavier than 13 gr.
A friend have luck shooting 16gr Zan in the heavy liner, but i have not been able to replicate his luck, though he is shooting M3 and i am Maverick, still should not matter much.
Yeah definitely shouldn't so long as you have the sane exact liner. You'd have to verify the number on the liners and match them

well i have no luck in the FX barrel lottery, the original 600 mm barrel of my Maverick was a cruel joke, and for the first 6 months or so it was a pain as it could not shoot any pellet at speed, drop to 600 FPS or so and sure some would be good.
But at speed up around 900 FPS and only the beasts flew well ( no slug shooting in that barrel )
but 10 year old FX rifle shot better than my Maverick with the 600 mm barrel, at least if i tried to shoot " fast "
Change to 700 mm barrel made the Maverick a lot more enjoyable to shoot for sure both pellets and slugs, not too hard shooting 1" 5 shot groups at 92 yards on the good days ( low wind )

O i so very much wish i had better luck with the H&N slugs, absolutely not hating, as a .177 shooter and slug fan you cant allow for that CUZ so little choice for .177 shooters.
Just putting my cards on the table and playing with a open hand.

O and i have ordered H&N slugs less than 30 minutes ago.
I'm gonna put them to the test with my new barrel from hatsan for my at-44 in 177. I tried the zan 8gr lead free slugs and those were under .31" at 45yds and the jsb 10.03 gen 3 were about a half inch at 45yds so I have high hopes! Put an order for all the .177 slugs from HN and most of the .25 from H&N to try in my vulcan 3

I have a tin of the lead free ones too, though i mainly got them for my friend to test in his anemic .177 rifle
But ATM he is very preoccupied with this mini scale RC stuff, so he dont shoot much.

Just found a almost full tin of 16 gr H&N slugs, and found out i had some 20 gr Zan, so the ones i just ordered + H&N stuff, well lets just say i hope my new rifle will shoot the heavy stuff CUZ suddenly i have a lot of it.

My favorite tins, the H&N screw lid ones, i fill all other stuff into those

Anemic like 12fpe and less? I wouldn't try it, I have my at44 tuned to shoot 10.65gr barracudas at 910fps and they are laser accurate. I'm seen people shoot them out of 12fpe and have had them stuck in the barrel when it specially calls for only pcp ie fac power levels

Please share on which barrels this slugs have confirmed to be "EXTREMELY ACCURATE ".

Must rifles allow a slug to be spited out the barrel.

I do not want to invest in more slugs that may not compete in accuracy with pellets.
For testing our slugs, we still mainly work with FX airguns with heavy liners. That is was Gerald also shoots in his competitions. We would be happy to have more choices.
For distances under 60-70 meters I would always recommend to use pellets anyway. Slugs can only exploit their advantages beyond this point.
