So I’ve picked up a new MF121 mod from BRK to see how it compares to my 0db short. The MF’s design is a lot simpler and plainer than the 0db but size wise it’s a bit chunkier. The weight is 151g which is a difference of just under 50g to the 0db’s 108g.
So does its size make a big difference to the muzzle noise ???
I put a mag through the pathfinder with the MF121 on the repeated the process using my 0db. My ears noticed a slight difference but I wasn’t 100%, maybe it’s just because I’m used to the 0db. Luckily I have a decibel meter in my kit which I set up about 10inches from the muzzle.
The results are as follows…
Ambient noise- 46db
0db - min 76.4db max 80.1db
MF - min 68.9db max 74.6db
The answers yes there is a slight decrease to noise levels. Now to give them the same test on my ghost and see if there’s a difference on there too, I’ll report back once I’ve had a few shots with each
