I reduced my arsenal over last few years to a single HW30s stainless look in 177 from AOA....wonderful plinker....not a complaint. Then I glanced at Field Supply this past weekend and saw a Hatsan 95 vortex 25 refurb for $86........I did succumb.......arriving Friday.....ordered some HN FTT 19.91........my real only fear is pump failure...I don't tinker....hope it doesn't happen to me.....

Received......lovely walnut, has some darkness which I like...not blonde....weight was comfortable as was length....a few little scratches as was refurb....metal looks excellent.

Moment of truth....took it to my 22 yds. backyard shooting area....prayed that sights were previously aligned.....cocked it....that was good exercise.....placed my 19.91 FTT in chamber...slightly loose fit compared to my 177 HW30s chamber....slowly took aim with open sight (sights are actually quite nice and easy to use fiber optics)......squeezed trigger which had lots of creep but no crunching/munching. I sensed one stage only...and bang.....little bit of dieseling....loud as per my wife.....smelled like oil....hit with a vengeance where I aimed on thick plastic empty lemonade container.....went through both sides and blew the cap off. If this continues....am rather satisfied....will crony soon........though obvious dieseling will need to settle....love after 1 shot! I noticed the repair slip signed at the factor states 10 shot average of 640 fps....wonder what pellet they tested with?

I’ve own several 95’s. All the calibers. I do go through them. The trigger can be brought down to just over one pound. They are IMHO the best bargain out there. You did good. If you learn to tinker, you would be amazed how good they can get. I was not getting the accuracy out of this 22 caliber and just did a re- crown. The accuracy now is as good as they get. Congratulations!

They are ”Sniper” branded 4x32 or 6x32 AO, Mil-dot, illuminated reticle. Came with a sunshade and end flip up caps. Bought a decade ago. Not manufactured anymore. Less than $35. Never had one fail. Even my beastly Hatsan 135 can’t destroy one. Wish they still made this model.

I have a dead one.
It lasted a good while with a slow leak. I was able to charge it and get a weekend out of it. Eventually the leak got so that that wouldnt hold at all.

Mine destoyed an old Bushnell 3x9AO, before it died.
Do you know if this guy could be coverted to spring?

What I’d really like to see are fastener replacement kits for Hatsans. I’d gladly pay an extra $10 to have screws that don’t break or strip out.

They’re that company that always seems to come so close to producing a decent product but fails repeatedly due to cutting corners. They’d be a much bigger player in the airgun market if they could just figure out their quality control.

Did a little range work this afternoon.....was getting an 2" at 22 yds. or so open site.....though the trigger has a long first stage creep, gun is heavy and balanced enough to hold it's poi.....then I did some crony of my own with the H&N FTT 19.91....was averaging around 641..very loose fitting..though I had one bad low one at 563??? and upper finds of 660. Overall it hung around 640, same as the technician reported on his refurb repair note.

Mounted 4-16x40 Bestsight brand ...sale price $25 with 4 screw dovetail rings included...all blue loctight...pin base screwed down....the optics are actually nice...parallax...adjustable eye piece...will see if tracking works and if it will hold up to a Hatsan 95 25 over time. Total invested in gun and scope and bases...$110.

Well, it's been almost 2 months....stored it muzzle down......took it out and found the rifle picking off small medicine bottles at 22 yds with authority......with Hatsan's Vortex reputation.....I'm glad I made it thus far.......with an $86 Hatsan 95 refurb and a $25 cheapie scope that's actually pretty accurate and holding zero...with nice view. Go figure....

Thanks DesertSilver......it's actually a very accurate and good looking/functioning powerhouse....which is what I wanted for larger pests....just wondering if I want to pick up the spring conversion for that inevitable day of failure.....having had many different springers over the years.....I'm still pleasantly pleased...except, without trigger adjustment....you do have a very long single stage trigger....but it works....not like my Rekord....but such is life at $86.

WeihrauchMan - if you like the punch of that 18 fpe .25 cal H95, you might love the Hatsan 125 in .25 - I have one bought maybe 3 years ago from Hatsan USA.
Coil spring yes, quattro yes, moderator no.

It's accurate and powerful. Here's an older video (not mine) showing what I mean:


When I saw that video I expected the pellets to dig some chunks free, I did not appreciate what was really going to happen.

Mine does 840-850 with 20 grain lead, 745 or so with 25.4's. And the very few times I fired 16 (16.5...?) grain alloys over a chrony, they just cracked 1000 fps for around 36 fpe. Those numbers are without any apparent dieseling and have barely come down over time and use From when it first arrived. Most pellets make 32 fpe for me at sea level, give or take an fpe. Thats a lot, but the long barrel makes it reasonable to cock and a 30-40 shot session is recreational. I'm old and fat, so if I can do it...

I do need to test mine at longer ranges, say our to 50 yards, but even at 25 accuracy is quite good. IIRC, well under 1/2" using a bag under the forend. If I were hunting "big" game (hare on up), I'd be very confident in the rifle. At those velocities, it's fairly flat shooting as well.

Don't scope it with anything that doesn't carry a righteous warranty though. Like Jackie Gleason said - "You can think about it.... but donnn't do it!" ha ha!
