28 fpe enough for porcupine?

Is 28 fpe enough for tough critters like porcupine? Shot a porcupine with the NSA 17.5 gr out of the brocock sniper XR last year. One shot to the head dropped it on the spot. Skinned and gutted the animal. While Chopping it up I found the slug lodged in the shoulder blade! Complete pass through on both sides of the skull. The shot was 35 yards away with 22 degrees incline.
DON'T waste porcupine meat it tastes just like rabbit but takes some time to cook.

Great shot! Did you shoot it out of a tree? I saw one porcupine while I was stationed out in the midwest and he was about 50ft up a tree.

Never thought or head of anyone eating porcupine. Don't they normally eat the bark around the trees?

Yes I shot it out of a tree. They stink when you are cleaning them and it takes time but they do taste like rabbit. Besides bark around the tree they eat leaves and nuts as well strictly herbivore.

i ate some several decades ago in Europe while working a power plant upgrade.
the person that cooked it knew exactly what he was doing.
there were 3 porks in the pot and they were excellent stewed over rice and veggies.
another fond memory i have while i was traveling the world in my 1st career.
we dont have them here in deepest south alabama.....wish we did, i'd like to add them to my
edible pest list...........🤘
