ASC Feb. Match Report

What a beautiful day for field target! Cool enough for jeans, warm enough for shorts, an occasional breeze to keep things honest. Just idyllic, and I'm not just saying that because Jeff wasn't there. Although he was micro-managing me all week, so it felt like he was there in spirit.

We had 29 shooters and a good time was had by most. Craig Martin was shooting a scorching round but his old CRX couldn't handle the pace and blew a tire in the last corner (DNF). Derrick Wall broke his springer virginity today and shot the high piston score for all divisions, and complained about the springer the entire time. Ah, springers. Gotta love em.

One notable correction to the scores, I misread James Durroch's score as a 30, it was actually a 36. There were a couple of other small corrections but places weren't affected.

With so many shooters, I'll cut the commentary short and get to the scores, but I did want to point at that this turned into a repeat of the ROT with Rick Cuccio edging out Brian Stafford for high Hunter PCP. This is getting to be a pretty good rivalry between the nicest guy in the sport and a guy named Brian. We also had 6 springer shooters and 4 WFTF shooters today. Thanks to everyone that came out, especially you out of state folks. It really means a lot to have you join us.

Next match will be March 23rd and it will be a Cajuns warm up, so expect GP level targets and we'll be using timers. I think Jeff will be out of town for that one as well, so I'll be channeling his evil match director energy to set a good course.

Here are the scores, further analysis is available at https://airgunshoot.com

Tried something different, but don't put your cinder blocks standing up like that. It was dumb.

One Martin before things went to crap. Hey, Craig, how old are those o-rings again?

A Buddy and a Bill B. Like me, when Bill heard that Derrick was trying a springer he smelled blood in the water. Like me, he forgot who the shark was.

Great match even without Cloud. In fact, there wasn't a cloud in the sky☀️ Sas did great on this match, I know that's shocking for all! And you're welcome for the pictures. Did my best to keep your hairy arse out of 'em. Maybe get a longer shirt, please ;) Congrats to Rick, what a shooter! Great shooting by Brian S. as well, going clean on all stool and stick shots!

Well boys, Springers are no joke. The TX has taught me some humility and the 8.4s have left something to be desired on the BC front! I'm gonna get a few more FPs from the TX before she sees daylight again as 10 FP is smooth but not quite enough power for my liking.

I'm bringing out my new BSA Gold Star for PCP Hunter work! Love it. Paul K. cheated me out of my Ghost he demoed and did so well with. I'll miss that Ghost but it'll be in good hands. Let's GO!! Cajuns is a coming baby, laissez le bon temps rouler!!
