Epic Airguns

@csdilligaf my regulator took a bit of time to settle since it didn't fully seal the regulator so when it was in my vault for a day the pressure increased. Nowadays it stays put where I left it so that is gone and can't really say that I have issues with the first shots being slow now.

I've been testing a bit with pellets in .22 on request and the results were good!

Tested 3 different pellets here: JTS Dead Center Precision 18.1 grains, H&N barracude 18 grains and JSB Exact Heavy 18 grains, all at around the same velocity of 270 to 275 m/s (885 to 900 fps). Will redo the test soon with the shorter barrel since the 550mm version is a bit overpowered with the valve at maximum opening. Also getting a delivery soon of some custom sized slugs to test. Measured the grooves on the barrel at .2195 for the CZ barrel and .2212 for the LW barrel so the standard slugs that are available are a bit undersized with .217 and .218 (for as far as you can trust the size on the packaging ;) ). Zan has some availability in .219 but I still have to test them at the range.

I've been testing a bit
Goed stuff M8, groups look about as you would expect, some maybe a bit wide but that is what you get when you are not spot on with the pellet of choice and / or the tune.

I hope fit are better in .177, CUZ there you dont really get any choice in size, well aside for the 1 a given slug come in.

Well that is good info then. And that many groups looking so good is impressive at 50m. Not just a cherry picked one, that gives some confidence in its accuracy. Have you tried any JSB redesigned Monsters in the 900-930 fps range?

I have tried them at 100 meters before with only a rough tune but as always I get these random fliers and questionable stability from the commercially available MRDs.... So far I never really liked them.

I had a lot more pictures of groups like this but no need to post them since they all look the same :)

@csdilligaf on iOS this app is called SubMOA, the same app is available for Android but the name is different. Google is your best friend for that ;)

@woogie_man I'm continuing the tests with slugs soon but first have IWA coming up, after that i'll post some more results

Was talking with Brian at EdGun West and he was talking about people having issues with the "ping" from these rifles. He was saying that the regulator being set much to high is what causes the ping people are hearing.
he set mine up for 20 ft lbs so that would be disappointing
I havent checked the speed to confirm where it is set

I have been talking with Brian a few times now. I can't decide if I want one of these rifles to play with, or wait for the other rifle I am looking at. The rifle will be as a dedicated NRL22 rifle, and some longer range hunting. So a huge shot count isn't really needed, What I am looking for is long range accuracy and low profile.

We need more information! It just bites that these guns come out during the winter and not many people are out shooting. Hell I was able to test out the AAA HPS30 this winter and had her out shooting at -40* weather! We need more cold weather, ie stupid people, to play in the cold weather! lol

@woogie_man I got the flu 3 days after I played in the cold for two hours. Time spent to shoot the first rounds and zero the scope. It's not funny ;)

My excuse is that the local range is difficult for me to use - the one that's a 5 hour round trip much less so, but in the winter it is cold and the indoor portion only good for 20 yards. Yeah I am a softy.....

As for the rifle - no idea of accuracy as it was windy as could be - I had no idea of what power I was shooting at.
More exploring for me to do. With a little luck this weekend.
