RTI RTI ARMS Prophet 2 unable to cock.

Perhaps the trigger needs adjustment, try adding some sear engagement by turning counter clockwise.

What is exactly the problem? Can you move the handle and tension the spring? Or the hammer doesn't lock in position?
If first remove the left side on the cocking mechanism and examine the point of failure.
Second remove the richt side cover and check if the trigger mechanism is holding the hammer. If not adjust the trigger screw on the most backside.

Yes, I can move the cocking handle and feel the tension of the spring but it doesn't latch on the mechanism that locks it in place.

The trigger mechanism is moving when I pull the trigger. It doesn't seem to have any problem. But I did try to play with the tension of the two small screws that controls the trigger by tightening and loosening them with no effect.

I also tried to adjust the spring preload tension, again, it doesn't make a difference.

It would be great if you could help with this issue.

I tries everything I could think of.

Thanks.

Next, remove the butt plate. Point the gun down and try to cock it. Does the hammer latch in place? If not then your cocking rod may have turned enough to not give you enough throw. The only other thing is something is binding the spring up and not letting the hammer come all of the way back.
Thanks for the further guidance. I'll try it out next week and will keep you posted.

Hi Rich,

I removed the butt plate and cock it. The hammer moves backward. But it doesn't latch to anything.

I uploaded the vids to illustrate it better. Please review and inform me if you see any problem.

Thanks.

It looks like your cocking plate is moving all the way to the rear, so we can rule out the short cocking rod. At this point it sounds like the trigger sear is not engaging the hammer. I would try to back the rear screw on the trigger way out and turn the front screw way in. Try the same cocking procedure as before and see if the hammer latches.
