Other Macavity Arms Airguns. $429 PCP?

Choose your components from china

Put one or two guns together

Make a rad website to market "your" design

Ship a gun to a YouTuber to build hype

Take pre-orders to fund your new venture

Congratulations you're an airgun company!!
Yup! But you know what? It's do or die time, for many. Another light airgun made out of that new, almost unobtainable new mystery metal "aluminum" that one company I know of thought was too big of a pain and not worth putting/upgrading into the most sold PCP of all so far. Oh yeah, and the Macavity has a new-fangled sidelever thingy too! Sorry for the rant, I am never going to let it go.

When are you guys going to realize that Benjamin has new models that address these issues? They're not going to change the Marauder until or unless it becomes fiscally sensible for them. Not to mention that there are other reasons not to build things only enthusiasts will know how to maintain. Aluminum tubes are available. They have trouble sealing. They scratch easily. They cross thread easily. They have to be thicker walled to test at the same failure pressures as DOM. Among other things. Sidelevers are nice but they are nowhere near as durable and reliable as a bolt. Just because niche enthusiasts think something is needed, doesn't mean the consumer market will even know the difference. If you want something with the features you listed, buy it. Benjamin won't care at all.

In my opinion.

I obviously disagree. People bought Harleys in the late 70s and 80s, when they knew they were junk, because they were American. Benji's cheaper import line is better off the shelf than the mrod. Time to innovate, like everyone else, and make the Marauder first tier.
But if the import line is cheaper and better why not just buy it?
I think if they do everything we would put in a wish list it would suddenly be a $1000 gun and would instantly not be the best seller.

I'm certainly not excluding Velocity from the rebranding debacle. It's all about the Benjamins... Pun intended

As I've said before I'm just waiting for all these components to start showing up on AliExpress.

Because "I" want to buy American too! Velocity Outdoors is now selling a $3000 R500 crossbow, who's buying that? The same kind of people, different sport.
I have a AAA Paradigm already, but if I didn't, I'd be bugging Benjamin everyday. :)
Well, Marauders are "Built in the USA using globally sourced components". So there's that.

I think the Marauder continues to be the best selling because of the price point for what you get. With all the trouble people have with reg'd guns I don't see the base model changing for a while.

I've been wrong before. One time, back in '83 I think it was 😁

Hey GenXer, all kidding aside, I have to let you know that whoever spread the info that the aluminum tubing had trouble sealing, scratched, and cross threaded, easily, was either unlucky or a clutz. Perhaps I'm lucky and not a clutz, I don't know, but I do know that I have never had one problem with my tube. JSAR had the tube they sell pressure rated and it is safe for the 200bar fill on the Marauder. This tube is a bigger deal than most people think, it completely changes the handling and feel of the gun. People should experience it before they dismiss it. I would not own a Marauder now, without one. Well, maybe for bench/target work, but not walking around. Just an fyi.

OK.....so yes, sounds awesome ,,,,, BUT! i was very interested and have watched every video out there the last couple months and these are my impressions. super loud even with moderator, supposed to have a dual stage trigger. but couple reviewer could not find or adjust to get the wall! and finally everyone who shot it, everyone that i've seen it grouped 2-3 pellets and threw the rest?
Sounds like a excellent platform, but ill be waiting to see how they hash out.

Not many sub $499 rifles these days.
And even fewer that include a moderator.
And if its too loud, I imagine you could swap the included moderator for a larger moderator of your choice.
