Results Mass Rifle FT Match, 01/27

This Saturday's match is a go. Sight in starts at 9, Match starts when Leo is ready. Classes are for school, just keep it under 20fpe. We'll continue using the WFTC format of one shot per target, two targets per lane for a 50 shot match.

After the match Leo and I will be staying behind to cut in a few new lanes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Of course something to eat will be provided for those helping. See ya Saturday.

Our end of the month shoot went off without a hitch. 4 attended the monthly match. Some were greeted with below freezing temperatures to get things started. Though I'm not asking for pitty, our shed has heat. I set up the sight in line then got started checking strings and target tags. With weekly storms this time of year the course can get a bit disheveled. After checking through 7 lanes, Leo Gonsalez arrived and immediately began helping me with my duties. Not long after Matt Brackett came and we made short work of checking the course over. After a bit of FT talk, Matt Sawyer made an appearance and we started sight in.

By now, conditions had brightened, though still overcast with a light blustery breeze. While the guy's sought-in I had to run home(10min away) to get my holdover chart and clubhouse keyfob. Upon my return I filled out cards for everyone and we got started with the match. Matt Sawyer and Matt Bracket started on lane 1, Leo and I on lane 2. With Leo at the helm we moved through the course quickly, giving me no time to dwell on my previous hits, or misses. For me, I started a bit shakey but once settled in I shot pretty consistently, up to the last few lanes. I will say, the 25 lane format can be more draining than anticipated. I think everyone who can't shoot worlds should give it a try.

With the temperature rising to 40f or so by the end of the match, we tallied our scores, put our gear away and moved into Nationals prep mode. We picked out 16 additional lanes along our course(roughly 250yds+ of lane realestate) to bring the total usable lanes to 50. After staking these locations we wrapped it up and headed home. After next match we will pick target locations and start clearing lanes to them. The more help the marrier.

As for scores and such, here ya go:

Leo Gonsalez: WFTF Springer Walther LGU, Some jsb varient pellet, Sightron SIII 10-50x60. 33/50

Matt Bracket: WFTF Springer Air Arms TX200, Ditto, Sightron SIII I think, might be an inky Hakko. 35/50

Matt Sawyer: WFTF Springer HW97K more than likely. Nightforce, a nice one. Might be H&N pellets, he uses those sometimes. 39/50

John Eroh: Hunter PCP Air Arms S500 Extra FAC, Sightron SIII 10-50x60. Benjamin Match 10.5. 43/50
