HW/Weihrauch Another sheet of groups from my first Weihrauch

Today I had things to fix and put together today. I did get to shoot some 25 yard five shot groups with my first Weihrauch. A 177 Hw95. Some good, some not so good. Red dots are 3/4". Mild side breeze today.
First row JSB 8.44 4.52
Second row JSB 8.44 4.53
Third and fourth row FTT 4.51
Fifth and sixth row FTT 4.52

no clear best pellet, by the looks of it — pretty darned good groups at 25 yds with any springer!

I assume the POA is dead center on each dot ? nice groupings ,all pellets .

Thanks yes my POA was dead center of the red dot. I had a little wind left to right so I didn't bother making adjustments. That was every shot from that rifle yesterday. I don't think it's been shot since late last summer.

Back in my nubie days i thought if my group was not centered on POA something was wrong . looking back at the targets i saved my groups were less than .25 or .28 shooting .177 and not more than 1/2 inch off center. I had to figure what was wrong with my groups ???? DOH !

I'll only adjust a zero in calm conditions when I'm ready to waste a few shots. It seems that most scopes under $300 don't track perfectly and take a few shots for the zero to settle down. On a day like yesterday where there was a light breeze that might account for the shift, I'd rather skip chasing adjustments and enjoy shooting.

Also I've found that mutilating my POA leads to wider groups so I'm in no rush to match my POA with my POI. Unless I'm zeroing for hunting. Obviously.
Be well
Ron.

Good choice on the R9. I bought a Beeman R9 in .177 a few years ago, and had fits with it, twangy, inconsistent velocities, some dieseling. I kept thinking it would settle in as people kept telling me, but after 500-600 shots still was very inconsistent, I finally ordered a Vortec PG4 kit and piston seal for it. It turned out the original piston seal was badly burned. Once I replaced with the PG4 kit everything was much better, but until I had another 400 pellets down range I didn't know how super accurate this gun is. I ended up converting to .22, but again after shooting a bunch of pellets down range it settled in to very tight groups if I do my part. In both .177 and .22 mine prefers the larger diameter FTT or larger diameter AA/JSBs. Keep up the good shooting, I think you will find it gets better and better.

same here,i hold off more than chase a zero. Especially when shooting outside as the conditions are never perfect. I'll zero my airguns at the 50' indoor range and "assume " that's the best windage I will get.

Thanks. This was my first of ten Weihrauch rifles. I got it back in 2015 it's had a Vortek PG2 kit and seal in it since early 2016. It's been through a couple of springs and seals since. I added the Luxus stock three or four years ago.

This gun has always been a shooter it usually ties and occasionally bests my 97 at 50 yards.. Those two are my most accurate Weihrauchs at 50 yards. When I'm doing it right they'll both shoot quarters and occasionally dimes at 50 with the right tin of pellets. When the weather improves, I'll grow some balls and shoot 50 yard groups again. There's a big difference in difficulty between 25 and 50 yards.
Be well

nice to see a full picture of all groups.
The point of impact stays pretty good.
Nice shooting
Thanks. I try to post either a full page or a at least all of groups on the page. This way people can see the good, the bad and the ugly. Then they can get a feel for real world results.

Single pictures of our best cherry picked groups may be good for our ego but can discourage new people. That's what happened to me when I first started to get seriously interested in spring guns. As a new person it was impossible for me to even come close to the groups I seen posted by veteran shooters. It nearly blew me out of the hobby until I learned that they were decade old cherry picked groups. To make things worse there's a lot of self proclaimed heroes on shooting forums that spend more time typing than shooting. They often fudge distances and play games like covering flyers with reference coins. It's quite sad because it hurts the hobby.
