FX FX Dynamic...Pellets or Slugs?

I think that really depends on how you want to use the rifle. I have a Panthera .22. I bought it to shoot slugs and it does that very very well. After developing my slug tune I dabbled with pellets. I wanted a pellet tune that only required a change In the macro power wheel. I wanted something that was easy to jump from slugs to pellets and back. That meant no reg change or micro wheel changes. I had to use heavy pellets to make that happen.
So my slug tune shoots the H&N HPII 30 grain at 955 fps. Then with several clicks down on the macro wheel I can shoot the JSB 25.39 grain pellets at about 920 fps. The rifle is so quiet with that pellet tune that you’d think it was broken. It’s very easy to go right back to the slug tune and so far it returns to the exact velocity.
With these tunes the rifle actually does a little better with the slugs. It will consistently shoot five shot groups in the .300-.400 range at 52 yards with the slugs and then in the .500 range with the pellets. I’m sure that with a tune that was specifically set up for pellets it could do even better.

Hi Kenny
Sounds super awesome what you're saying here cos that's exactly what id love to do. Im shooting now JBS 25.39 grain pellets but started with 23.4 grain pellets (other brand) with my regulator at 80. Still shooting this JBS 25.39 with the same regulator pressure and just higher my micro to 19 to see if if could get what you're talking about here and it shoots the 25.39 pellets very well except for longer range so here its where id like to know if with slugs I can end up with a fully consistent rifle no matter the range. Your slugs are also the same grain I have on mine. There also I would adjust the reg to 100 and see how it goes. Mine its a .22 dynamic. What's your reg pressure for your 30 grain slugs? As I live in Costa Rica. hope I can find some descent slugs here!
Super thankful about your info!
Have a good one there!

My reg is at 130 BAR, Macro at 13, and Micro at 3 plus 8 clicks up. This gives me 955 fps with 30 grain H&N slugs and a 600mm barrel. For pellets I keep reg and micro the same and drop Macro to 3. That gives me about 920 fps with the 25.39 grain pellets. Are you able to order from Pyramyd Air? That is where I buy my slugs.

Morning Kenny!
I know all rifles are different but with this info I can save so much time to get mine where I want it. SUPER APPRECIATE IT! Thanks so much!!
Yeah I ordered couple of magazines from Pyramyd . Gonna have to do the same if I don't get decent slugs here.
If you ever think about coming check out Costa Rica or Panama just let me know. Always welcome at my place!
Saludos!

Capt Samm, we spent 3 weeks in Jaco a few years back. Fabulous time! We're thinking about going back to explore somewhere new (for us). What are airgun restrictions (or lack thereof) like in Costa Rica? Do you hunt or target shoot mainly? If hunt, what do you go after?
Nice Gerry! I live further north, very close to Samara. Anytime you'd like to come back and check it out just let me know. Im from Panama, but been coming here since end of the 90s and now live here too. Go to Panama to check things and come back.
Air guns are considered a toy here. Only fire arms have regulations. Lots of places you can go hunting although there are many places protected by the government and some private institutions. I know people who go hunting for deer and stuff around here. I just shoot doves now and other birds ;that are very good eating. I do fish a lot. Let me know if you ever make it back. Mi casa es tu casa!
Saludos amigo!
