Sooo, I have a edgun Lelya, and am finding that it is a little loud on my ear, not ears. Seems like right where the loading chamber is in relation to where you lay your cheek is interesting. I would say it is horrible, but is having my wonder if I should be wearing a single earplug. I would as a chef in highly industrial kitchen, so not shy to noise. Any advise or anyone else have this problem with say the Leshiy or fX impact models?

That's that the nature of bullpups. The hammer smacking the valve is what you're hearing because your ear is resting right above it. Some are louder than others and in your case, that's the Lelya/R5M Matador series. In regards to the Leshiy, I'm assuming you're referring to the L2? The L2 shoots through the magazine so it is a little louder. I don't own or never shot an Impact so I wouldn't know. I'm sure others here will give you the answers.

Yes, the Leshiy 2. It is kind of weird in the sense that I don’t remember it being an issue with the cricket, but different gun, different maker.

I have an uncommon vestibular issue that causes me to be sensitive to sound. My avatar depicts the surgery i would require for a partial fix, for what it is worth.
I have four Leshiy Classics & one Leshiy2. When my Classics are tuned to the knee at moderate power levels I get minor symptoms in my affected ear, which is the side I shoot from. Shorter dwell tunes aren't so bad.
My Leshiy2 is noticeably louder & causes me no issues, for what it is worth. It's loud but no mechanical spring powered hammer smacking a valve sound that vibrates down the air tube.
I have never shot a bullpup of any sort but I suspect one with a hammer arrangement like a Lelya would be something I could not tolerate.

Interesting. I appreciate that! It seems like the Leshiy 2 would hopefully just sit differently in relation to where the chamber is. Good to hear it is working for you

I have a big box of good foam ear plugs that I used while on my motorcycle, going back and forth to work, a little over 80 miles a day.
I have a couple of guns, like the Lelya (mine's a .22) that are loud, and keep thinking of using one (right side) plug...BUT...seems that I don't think about it until I'm done shooting it ! DUMB !!
Anyway, yeah, nothing to do to them that I know of, but to stick an ear plug into your ear.

I’ve been avoiding most bullpups because of this. It’s the nature of them unfortunately. The hammer and valve is if it next to your ear. An earplug will work fine, or don’t buy bullpup rifles. Either one will work. Lol
