2 for 1 at 109yds

Was shooting pigeons with my Evol Mini today and was shooting long range. Got a few around 128-130yds and some landed at 109yds. Took a shot at one and nailed it. Was 10 others with it. Half flew off the others kinda walking around thinking what the hell just happened. I then noticed the one was limping really bad then walked to the right and just dropped and died within 10 secs. I've had 2 for 1s before but never at this long of a distance. Pretty crazy with only 16fpe on target at that distance to go through one and kill the next.

That's awesome. .22/15.89 or .22/18.13?

Our airguns will kill small pests much further than most are willing to try.
Most shooters aren’t as talented or experienced in the field such as yourself and @Dairyboy to even attempt such shots. You gents put in the work and it shows. I was amazed at getting consistent kills on pigeons out to 104 yards with my .22 Compatto when things went right. On a few occasions I had to hike out there to dispatch a wounded pigeon that had glided to adjacent trees. That tempered my long range shooting at animals. For me anything over 100 yards is ELR with my .22s

Good stuff! Btw what scope is that? It looks to have some really nice glass.

15.89gr at around 885fps. I have strelok at 900fps as that matches my trajectory better. And yeah they are very surprising. That's why I only have .22 and am hesitant to use slugs around the dairy. I like to just try just cause it's fun to stretch it out. I'm learning I like a steady wind to shoot in cause yesterday was variable and geez some shots were dead on and next were 1.5 mil hold off.

Pretty impressive that that little gun can reach out that far. 👍
Oh yeah this little gun can shoot! Only limitation is the wind. Once I'm dialed it's hard to miss.

Man that mini has some serious accuracy. I haven’t shot mine past 45yds yet. I’m not sure I’m comfortable with my own shooting to take pests at that distance without some serious practice. Lol.

I gotta find a place I can actually practice at 100yds first.
Oh yeah these guns can put up some very tight groups at distance. And yeah I've been doing this for 5 years now I think. I feel very comfortable out to 100yds. Not many times or places I shoot further on the dairy.

Lol well thanks. Not sure I'd ever say talented but I do have experience. And I agree with your statement with your normal .22 pellet that anything over 100yds is ELR.
16fpe is actually still quite a bit. Nice shooting.
Yeah that is true if I shot point blank with my Notos that would go through a few pigeons I would assume. Thanks!

Thanks! That scope is the Athlon Helos BTR Gen 2 4-20x50 with APRS6 reticle. I think they are a fantastic value in scopes. This and the 2-12x42 version. I've had the 4-16x44 Midas Tac and 3-18x50 Ares ETR UHD. Both great but for size and weight and features I think the Helos is a perfect airgunning scope for my uses.

Damn, I wish my wallet could take a hit like that again hahaha. I just got an arken sh4 gen 2 for my impact to replace the vortex diamondback tactical, which I put on my cricket 2. Now looking for a compact-ish light weight scope to put on my leshiy classic .177.

I like my Arken SH4 Gen 2 4-16x50 on my Tikka T1X. Have the new EPL4 4-16X44 also which is a nice scope. Not sure what you consider lightweight though. Hard to find a true lightweight scope that's not worth a fortune like the March's or just lower quality like the bug buster or Hawke 2-7x32.

Well I had a vector veyron 3-12x44 that I gave to a friend which is really nice. But the crosshairs are very fine. Scopes weighs about 18z and measures about 10in overall.

I was gifted a .22 Bobcat in February of 2021 (THANKS Socaloldman!) After favoring 25 & 30 cals as a general rule (for hunting) I thought the Bobcat would just be a short range novelty, lacking what my higher caliber guns provided. It was originally set up by Mike Bricker (Centercut) for scope clicking, the only one of my 3 guns calibrated for that. My very 1st hunt & first shot using the Bocat, I dropped a ground squirrel with a head shot from 102 yards! I think my longest kill with it was 132 yards. Totally reversed my errant & unfounded opinion that a .22 would not have the range, accuracy or terminal velocity needed for loooong shots. I'm still amazed by the Cat & it's become a gun that's used on virtually every hunt I go on & a cherished & valued possession. Shows how "condemnation prior to investigation" can form some weird & WRONG opinions & perspectives.
Oh, BTW, nice shooting!

Practice will get you to this....100 yards .22 Maverick Compact, 22gr slug. Honestly it just takes practice and more practice and getting that pesky heart beat to stop, just not for too long. I'm lucky, my heart rate is SLOW and my triggers are just perfect...now...for me.

This was the 3rd shot, First knocked it over, Second was a near miss. My buddy Pete wedged it in for the final hit.

Dairyboy got me going on the tripod thing, it's all his fault.

Gun shown is my Maverick .25 VP but they look alike.
