Prophet II compact, Air in eye

Its coming from the barrel screw in front of the magazine,
I replaced the O ring that didn't help, Placed reflon tape on the screw, No help, I can place my finger on the screw while shooting and that keeps the pop of air at bay, I even tried a bigger o ring that didn't work, It twisted in the hole. So what's the secret fix?

I used a new o-ring and a difficult to do wrap of just the threads with heavy Teflon tape. Perhaps waxed dental floss for the threads would also work.

Just Teflon tape the screw. I’ve been doing on my RTI’s forever to prevent dry eye. My P2 with the oring just got some tape because I felt it puffing. No effect on velocity but annoying.

Teflon tape seems to be the key, I think I will try it again, Maybe just start the screw with a thread and wrap the snot out of it and tighten it up, Maybe try a different O ring I got boxes of them.

Is it a machining issue?

No, My Prophet I has a smaller screw and I have never had a problem, Not a machining issue, I dont think
I have heard the Prophet III has three screws on top, Not really looked at one real close , Just different design?

I changed out the two O rings on the barrel and it fixed the air in the eye deal, A five minute fix if your not goofing around and cleaning every thing as I do ,

I changed mine to 90 duro, and added two wraps off dental floss under them, quite snug now.

Yea Scotty 1 you turned me on to the place and part number to buy some duro for the barrel, I will have to remember the dental floss trick, But for now my barrel is super tight , Mine world not push in , I had to get a rubber mallet and gentley tap it in with the new 0 rings
