Well with my little compressor breaking today I am done with cheap crap. So I'm looking at spending good money for a quality compressor. I have narrowed it down to the two mention and was wanting your guys/gals opinion. I don't have the luxury of my tanks filled because no one is nearby that does it so I'm gonna have to fill my own tanks. So which one do you recommend.

Coltri is the best way to go. The dealer in the US is Nuvair...call and talk to them.

Call and ask to speak with Mitch. He is well-regarded here and wonderful to work with. Nuvair is a solid dealer that isn’t going anywhere and they sell quality in their products as well as in their customer service. Also, buy the 220 model and have a receptacle put in your garage or shop to power it. The gas models are a bit more expensive, but are stupid portable! Or you can butter up your wife and maybe she will allow you to use the dryer outlet! You’ll need to provide your own power plug as well, but those are easily purchased at your local hardware store, and I believe if you search on here there’s a how-to on wiring the plug.

its about fill times, but more importantly about the strain the 110 volt puts on conventional household power distribution as well as the motor that runs the compressor. The 220 is more robust as well as being more efficient and easier on your outlets and breakers.

220 places less overall load on your electrical system, or so those people who know tell me. I have a dedicated breaker just for the compressor. (When it comes to electric, I know almost nothing. Which, is why I hired someone who did. I gave them a copy of the Coltri manual, before they came to wire it up, so they were fully aware of what was being installed.)

I'll chime in about the Airetex............................I have owned mine 7 years now, filled many tanks over and over including my buddies 6000 psi nitrogen tank. I think my compressor has 31 hours on it and not so much as a burp. Built like a tank. I wanted plug and play, and I got it. no regrets. I just recently removed the shroud to check the belt and fasteners,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,still like new.

That's the same compressor that I have. One of the best decisions I ever made and changed my large bore shooting forever.

Let me share my findings for drsquall and anyone else comparing these compressors. Grackeblast and Badgerfarm own Airetex brand compressors which are now sold by Alkin U.S. compressors in New Jersey. Alkin compressors are manufactured in Turkey. I own a W31 and recommend Alkin for their durability and their excellent customer service. Airetex, in Dallas TX previously sold Alkin manufactured compressors built to their specifications. Airetex is a U.S. designer, importer, and retailer. Alkin is a manufacturer and U.S. distributor of their own compressor brand. Alkin compressors are also sold by several online air gun retailers. After Airetex and Alkin parted ways, Airetex contracted a chinese manufacturer to build Bauer Jr. II clones under their Airtex brand. I don't know if Airetex still sells compressors as they have kept a low profile the past couple of years. If you like the previous generation Airetex, buy an Alkin. If you prefer a Bauer Jr. II clone at an attractive price, contact Airetex and share your findings with us.
