A second recrown gave the expected accuracy to the Wolverine HP HR .22

A second recrown checked with a magnifier gave the Wolverine used I bought the expected accuracy for my standards.

At least for hunting purposes now I know the rifle is reliable. This is a group at 85 yards. Good enough for my expectatives:

LOL....that is an AMAZING 85yd group! Nice crown work and now pests have no chance with you and your Wolverine HP in hand! Have fun hunting with it.
LOL…. Not so easy !!!!

Hunting and a shooting to a target from a rest are quite different activities !!!

Target stay until you are ready, pest insist in survive to be able to cause more problems!

Lol not messing around!
It has always worked perfectly !!!

I have made the recrown for many of my rifles.

The next three shot were made a moment ago at 85 yards also with the Vulcan 3 .30 Cal .700 mm and JSB'S 44.7 grain.

For hunting purposes what is important is that you feel comfortable that the rifle will perform when the opportunity arrives just for a couple of seconds. THERE ARE A LOT of factors that can make you miss the shot A LOT!!!

But..... I took this rifle after 4 months of having it resting at it's soft case, made three shots and the rifle hits like this at 85 yards, then you are absolutely confident that, when the moment arrives after many hours of pursuing the trophy, this rifle will make its part:

Emu, I posted that because I know how much you practice and how well you shoot and would not take a shot if the quarry wouldn't be in position for a lethal shot! I thnk I have more confidence in you than you do! 🤗

Wow, a Dewalt hand lathe. Emu, I’m impressed. I would wreck a crown with that thing. You must have nerves of steel.
If I would have mess it recrowning a barrel as I mess it taking stock pellets out of a barrel, then I would not post the recrowning as something easy to do.

But every time I have made a recrown that way with those tools the success has been evident.
