Just curious what slugs you guys are shooting that are producing the best accuracy/groups for you Fx impact m3 or FX Crown MKII owners who have a Superior Heavy Liner?
Interesting, I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you for sharing.I am a target shooter and not hunting, so here are my findings.
Last year season - .25x700 MK2 I was trying-testing ZAN 37-41-44 grain slugs with Superior Heavy liner shooting 100 meters BR target, about 4-5 K shots and many-many tunes.
This year season I am back to 34gn JSB MK1 and MK2's, STX-A liner.
My personal experience = up to 100 meters scoring rings the - off the shelf pellets beats the - off the shelf slugs.
Slugs for target shooting? Longer then 150 meters distances for sure, but tuning is finicky, time consuming and costs much more. Tuning for pellets is much easier.
Hope this clears a dilemma![]()
What are your regulator settings at to achieve 1000fps? And what about your valve adjustment, where's that at?700mm Heavy liner ~1000fps great accuracy with Nielsen 34.9 and 38.5. Havent been shooting many other slugs so far.
150Bar on a Huma high pressure reg and my internal mods are: Huma slug tune kit with heavier hammer weight/spring and lighter valve return spring, Huma slug probe and transfer port. Valve stop is at about 4.5 lines, and hammer preload is at macro/max and micro/80%. If you want to try these setting on an M3 you will likely have to do something with the front regulator, either remove it or upgrade it. My setup has more room to go higher, but I dont like the idea of beating all the parts together to get another 40fps.What are your regulator settings at to achieve 1000fps?
