First time sorting a tin....wow

I weigh and then roll test FOR A COMP. only
This is a practice target straight from the tin .

Now take them results and size.

Ive been told weather yrue or not os sizing is mo'better of the weight gap is with in reason . Them weights you got above if sized you probly not see difference vs. tight to loose fit shot pellets. Consistent fit pellets drill..

But thats where you do all this and draw you own best conclusion..

If you take several pellets types/brand that the same weight say there all 8 grain domed. What one in that gun gives you the flattest trajectory and retains enegry at your longest shot. Of course still hold accurate. . Bla,bla,bla...lol. It's a find one pellet that works and learn to shoot it .

Like my buddy use to say when shooting for the gold, cash , prizes, fame or trophy's you want every edge in you favor... Cause the guy next up probably is..

Good luck with your endeavor . I really cant say if it is worth it , but what i can say is that it takes one factor out of the picture . You did everything you can to eliminate the dreaded flyer .

shooting with a mag. can produce inconstant pellet loading which in turn produce's the pellet not seated in the chamber consistently . any Comp's i have been to, all the best scores are produced using single shot trays .

wish i had a Huben , wonderful rifles . very different animals compared to say an FX mag .

If i was major nelson id have a lot of nice stuff... But you know the old saying. " Wish in one hand........ ".

Just for the shooting i do anymore washing make a difference . Just getting any crap off the prllets that can cause to to go off balance. Like a speck of swaf lead flake can act like a wheel weight so to say.

I watched a few videos last night with some winners of PCP competitions and it seems they weigh but not size pellets and shoot them all but just keep them separated.

Interesting stuff.

I did a full process last year, starting with
washing-drying-lubing-visual sorting-head sorting-weight sorting-rolling
...........and I just got sick and tired of all these. Spending more time and effort to prepare then shooting?
Got myself a pellet sizer, and I was still not happy with it, spent couple days to put the sizer in my perspective.
"slugged the barrels / liners each, marked the sizes, and adjusted the sizer for a common OD head size.
Saves an enormous amount of time.
And, btw not a tightest ES gives you tightest groups and you shall test your tunes always the longest distance you have available ... that will show.

Yes, thank you. And looking at these figures in terms of percentages is a more meaningful way to compare them.

The 2.23gr delta in .22 cal represents a difference of 12%.

Whereas the 1.5gr delta in the .25 cal pellets described in the original post represents a difference of just 4%. Roughly one-third as much.

Just a quick and dirty observation, they look evenly split in weights, now of course you'll need 10 more tins to verify that, then start shooting each weight to find the best one then buy 100 tins to get the start of enough to compete with. I'll take the balance off your hands. As a favor.
