Double Case?

So I recently got a wood huben k1 .25 from Kelly I haven't had testing time behind it yet but liked it so much I sold my leshiy 2. Recently I got a great deal on a synthetic k1 in .22 and man these will be a great pair. I really think with the range they can do low to high they will be a great pesting hunting pair. I am trying to decide if I should get a case that will fit them both so when I go out with them I can cover pretty much anything. Has anyone ever been out and something came out and you wished you had a different caliber or power. Or just case them separately and take when needed.

@brawler1588 Personally I don’t like double-gun soft cases unless I’m going into mountainous terrain that wheeled vehicles can’t access. I have carried two guns in the field in different fashions: long rifle in a pack w/scabbard and bullpup on a single-point sling around my body OR two bull pups on different slings. If I’m in the field and something else pops up, I need the guns to be out and ready to shoulder.

I’ve missed opportunities because I was not in position or I walked dozens of yards away from one gun to stalk a particular animal and another appeared simultaneously. Either way, a double gun case would not have helped. Cases are really only good for transport in my experience. Hard cases provide great security in that regard. Have you considered a two-gun hard case?

I have the problem is finding a decent double hard case I have seen a few but can't decide.Double Case

@brawler1588 I just reread you post. In a pesting situation that sort of soft case may suffice considering you’d probably be close to your vehicle and it would have ample space for other miscellaneous gear. I was obviously thinking of an entirely different scenario.

If you’re looking for a good double gun hard case, I like Pelican cases. As for soft cases I’ve had a few. Savior makes a decent one. The thing to keep in mind about the protection factor in soft cases is checking to see if there is adequate padding around the edges of the case and in the divider separating the guns. Let me find a link for you.

Edit: These are good rifle bags IMO.

I can vouch for the Savior bags. I have 2 of their double bags and use them for both firearms and air rifles. On eof them currently contains my Huben K1 AND my FX Wildcat MK III Compact. The other does duty on range trips when i carry multiple rifles.

@brawler1588 There are some members in the thread below touting Apache cases sold at Harbor Freight. Maybe drop by a location, handle, and inspect a few Apache cases to see if they suit your needs.

Just a heads up starting March 10 the 170 dollar apache hard case at harbor freight will be on sale for 119. It’s built like a tank and even has rollers. Worth every penny.
