Shoutout to Wolfmangreg

I put a want add out a couple weeks back wanting a Cricket Mini and dang if Greg didn’t come through! I’ve got some very accurate rifles and this one was no exception! Those two groups were 40 and 60 yards. Going to be a lights out squirrel rifle for sure!

@SMH - You may already be aware of this, but figured I'd post it here to get it in front of more Cricket owner eyes.

Ernest Rowe has a bunch of excellent videos covering troubleshooting, repair, & modifications to Cricket guns:

Think he's working with a bullpup in all the vids, but ought to translate to any 1st gen Cricket action.

Haven't had the need to get inside mine yet, but have downloaded & saved a bunch to my watch later list- every PCP will need new o rings eventually, if nothing else.

Thank you! That may definitely come in handy! I’ll be honest, this little rifle makes me want to try the other carbine as well.

.22 Cricket Carbine Mini - always one of my top favorite guns.

I’m curious what pellet and speed are you shooting for your groups?

Mine really loves the H&N 18s at 800fps at will shoot groups just like yours all day long.

Also what moderator do you have on there? I do prefer the raw barrel look with a small mod as well.
I still need to run it over the chrony, but it looks like Georgia airguns had her averaging about 880-890 with the 18gr JSB’s.

The moderator is a “buckrail” that Wolfmangreg put on.

Charlie Frear called me back yesterday. Very nice fellow and patient. I'm going to buy the Cricket Mini-Carbine after Christmas (5 grandchildren come first). I like the look of the carbine in this thread with the "raw" barrel and moderator rather than the full-length tube. I would probably prefer the carbine in .25 over .22 because I don't have a .25. Woodland squirrels and getting ready for same are my objectives. I don't want a rifle longer than 35" and preferably shorter.

I love the look of the DS Alpha Wolf, but I'm not a tinkerer and all those wonderful bells and whistles would be wasted on this grandpa. I've owned some Daystates and I have to say Air Arms and DS have been the best finished PCPs I've owned.

I keep scanning the classifieds here to make sure I want a new one over pre-owned.
