Anyone modify their Taipan OEM magazines?

Just curious if anyone has modified their OEM Taipan Veteran magazines to blank off one of the holes? I’ve seen some guys are 3D printing mags with a blanked out hole. I’m thinking about making a wood plug and pressing it into one of the holes. This would indicate the mag is empty.

I went hunting the other day and got really frustrated wasting air and shots when there wasn’t any lead in the pipe. I’d rather be down a pellet than to waste a blank shot.

My way around that is to single-feed my Veterans. Nice easy access to drop a pellet in the factory supplied single-shot tray. I've shot many thousands of pellets out of them (by empty tin counting, I'm close to being able to say ten's of thousands), and probably 95% has been using that single shot tray.

May not work for your application, but it's an option that avoids trying to hit your target with nothing but air.

When I had my mk2 wildcat I had a similar issue. My fix was to make a small indentation on the side of the mag and add a dab of nail polish to really make it stand out. I kept an eye on the dot, and it would indicate if I had shots left. This also helped me keep all my spots, and not lose a magazine slot.

Well the things is, we hunt pigeons in this large industrialized dairy farm and at times we are shooting so rapidly there isn’t time or thought to pay attention to the magazine count or pellet skirts or look for a dot like when you are just setting waiting for the occasional squirrel to wander within range. For example a few days ago we shot 306 pigeons in a 3 hour window and there were times we were shooting as fast as we could cock the gun. It was so frustrating having a big old fat bird in my crosshairs only to hear a puff of air, aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

I know that guy that make the no-dry fire mags personally😄. But I though he called Anti-empty loading mags? Anyway, I have uses his mags and it works as intended.

I like to read the forum to see what others find important or convenient for them. When I am done shooting for the day. I put my rifles up on a empty discharged chamber. So I shoot even when I know the magazine is empty. My AAA rifle magazine has a stop that prevents the probe to be closed. So I remove the magazine and shoot on the empty cylinder before coming in the house.
Here is a funny note my kur dog hears the report of the louder shot without the pellet. She turns and goes to the door. She knows it time to go inside.
