BRK Ghost 👻 Carbine Review

Having shot a lot of airguns, my initial impressions of this Airgun are very high! The fit and finish are top notch, it feels robust, really solid build (tank solid) and the trigger is a HUGE improvement over other Airguns in the BRK lineup. Now don’t miss quote me here. I like the triggers on the current XR line, but this Airgun takes it to a new level! The gun shoulders well, cycles easily, appears to use the same magazine system as the Daystate line (Brocock uses a similar magazine in the XR line, just slightly different in design and not compatible with Daystate guns).

The version I purchased (my own hard earned money and not given to me to review) is in .22 caliber with the smaller air cylinder, shorter barrel and the second version of the hammer spring adjuster.

Although I wasn’t sure about the two tone color at first, I have really warmed up to it. Seeing one in person is totally different than pictures.

I also really like the way that BRK manufactured the safety on the Ghost vs the one on the DW. Seems to me that they kept enough of the DW that you see similarities, but changed enough about the looks and of course functionality that the Ghost is its own unique design with plenty of character to make one want to tremble with excitement (not fear).

Now this dang winter storm needs to roll on through so I can see if the Ghost shoots as good as it looks and not just a spooky hazy dream making it look so good.

Where are they available can’t find one to purchase

I finally got mine a few days ago and decided to clean the barrel. Here is what came out of my barrel….It took a long time to get that white patch in the photo…

Is the brown color on patches from grease or rust? If I saw rust I would be ordering a bore scope. Hope it’s not rust cause that’s a lot of money for a rusty barrel.

I believe that is the bore preservative that BRK, and quite possibly most manufacturers, applied to protect the bore from corrosion when it shipped, as the gun had to travel via ship--thus, the salty air--to the dealer. You'd be surprised how quickly steel rusts in salty air. Unprotected steel can start rusting even in a day in such type of air. That brown gunk is also what was on mine. I had to scrub it all out with a bronze brush and Breakfree CLP.

Actually just finished cleaning, polishing and waxing the barrel. Wish I had put the work in last night, but not enough hours in the day. That being said I did have to take a second this afternoon in the misty rain before the cold hit.

This Airgun is crazy smooth. It is one of those things you just have to experience.

The rear hammer spring adjustment worked well and I was able to see some real potential. The picture below is the last group of the day and i just couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

5 shots at 65 yards with 18 grain JSB pellets using the Carbine version of the ghost 👻 in .22 caliber and a 16x Hawke Airmax SF scope. Going to grab a scope with a little more magnification and first focal plane for my next trip. Hopefully I can repeat these result on subsequent trips.

Might just have to name this gun Casper the friendly ghost as nothing is scary about this Airgun.

Congratulations !!!!

I was about to buy one in .25 Cal.,but my bank protected my credit card not allowing the charge.

When my bank unblocked the credit card all Ghost were gone.

Ended up buying the Wolverine in .25 Cal with a 700 cc bottle. I gain in stethics and lost in adjustability. But if the Ghost that I was buying could shoot perfectly, then it would give the same accuracy of my Wolverine.

If I eventually buy another rile it should be really differentfrom those I own, I suppose a semi auto with the Huben, LCS, Rattler, Sidewinder propulsion system. I think....
