Reasonable Expectations for a 16fpe .20 HW95 @ 50yds?

My Berman R10 in .20 would regularly do .75-1" groups at 50 yards.

It was a "Made in West Germany" 80's import and tuned by Russ Best, but the potential is there in all of them.
Yeah what he said!
After finding how it likes to be held 1" groups should be the norm on a no wind day!

I strive for under an inch at 55 yards which is the FT maximum range. I have several groups that are well under 1/2 inch for 4 out the 5 shots. Not sure if it's my tendency to pull to the right or if it's the wind?

Yeah thats kind of similar to what I'm getting too. There are always a few that go where they are supposed to but always one or two that have a change of heart. I don't know if its me, the pellets, or the gun. I'm using the 13.73gr JSBs at the moment which seem to be the most consistent. The FTTs aren't terrible though either.

Its not a bad shooting gun by any means. Its just not a particularly fun gun to shoot groups with. It is fun to shoot stingers with though.

Edit: I meant "aren't" and not "are"

Everyone's nightmare! Those dreaded pesky fliers!

Ok so I'm about on par then it seems. I was just getting frustrated because it always seems to be going really well but then one or two always want to ruin a great group. I'll chalk it up to just being a pretty snappy gun with little ammo selection to choose from.
I would scrub the barrel to smooth out the minor imperfections (400 clover and JB Paste) and then shoot JSB 13.73's.
Practice hold consistency, since the gun is new - most flyers are likely on you ....

Barrel has been scrubbed thoroughly and the gun does shoot pretty well. The "fliers" (which I have no doubt are me) don't open the group up much, but they do tend to get them to an inch or so. Its more of an annoyance than anything else. I just de-detuned it back down to 14.8fpe with the 13.73gr and my 30m groups are typically 1/2" or so. I just shot this 10 shot group as an example:

Well I'm all over the road with this groups vary from probably 1.5" to 0.5" if you exclude the sighter groups at the bottom. All groups are minimum of 5 shots. Distance is a measured 50 yds with calm winds occasionally gusts to 7 or 8 mph. I haven't set up a proper bench. I'm sitting in a plastic chair resting my left hand on a deck hand rail and my right arm is unsupported. With a proper set up I'm sure I'd be more consistent.

I've been shooting this R9 with my 22 R1. The R1 packs a wallop but the R9 is more accurate and enjoyable to shoot.

Yeah thats about what I'm dealing with too. Heavy-ish wind today but I managed ONE good group out of 4. Its a very temperamental gun. If I'm not 100% on that trigger pull, I'm off target by a lot.

Wind will always be a factor with airguns. My case was more about a poor set up. I'm referring to not having a proper bench.

Shoot... you're right sorry. I skimmed right past your shooting position and straight to the picture. That will definitely do it. The middle left group is very impressive concidering how you were shooting

The potential is there. I just have to improve my bench
