Slayer 308

All I'm gonna say is that it's an awesome big bore if you decide to get on the waiting list. I would love to own one as well but don't know if I have the patience.

Well if you can wait for the gun, I would highly recommend it. I have a .357 Slayer and love it, no issues with my gun. Very accurate with the TJ barrel, shoots slugs very accurately.

I also have the awesome 357 Slayer I use for deer, hog, yotes and bobcat hunts. I have it tuned for five shots at 280 FPE within a 2.3% ES. Max for me has been at 312 FPE for three shots. I have also tuned it for 6 shots at 275 FPE to match the six shot mag. They are very easy to tune with having an external valve dwell and hammer spring adjustment, but will come already tuned by Tom the builder and owner of AAA.

I have read that typically big bores are very hard to cock and some require two steps to cock. The Slayer has only a 3lb. cocking force and cocks in one step. The Slayer is extremely well built, but light and short with very tight tolerances. I know this because I have taken mine apart to replace the O-rings. It is very quiet for a big bore as well with the built-in moderator that also works with the shroud. The Slayer has a titanium 400cc reservoir that fills to 3800 psi and also has a retractable bolt probe that clears the transfer port, very neat. It also has a balanced valve.

You may put in a WTB over in the classifieds to cut the wait time. Someone might want to let theirs go you never know. My .30 cal is an Impact II. Another very nice gun, but it can't compete with the Slayer build.

Here is my best recorded six shot group using cast slugs at 100 yards with all six touching to show what the TJ barrel and gun can do. I have shot many similar groups.

The Slayer use to be $500 to $600 cheaper. Then, when many who had orders in for them couldn't handle the wait time (understandably) started complaining heavily on the forums, Tom shut down direct sales I believe. So now there is a middleman between Tom and potential customers that has to get paid. I forget the company name right now, but check with Tom first as it is his business and can tell you more about them or how best to get one. I guess if the store that sales them has them in-stock, I would think the wait would be reasonable now. Tom use to tell people six weeks, which turned into over a year for some I know, so be careful. It is a gun worth waiting for if you can wait. There is no other big bore that I know of that can touch the Slayer.

The last guy I saw on the GTA talking about his slayer pre-order has been waiting for two years to get his. They are awesome guns but I’m not paying and then waiting two years to get one. Good luck with your journey.

These will not be sold directly anymore, only through Airguns Of Arizona. Several Slayers should be available through them by December. 

Some of my .30 Cal are so accurate that I do not understand what people would like to obtain out of a very expensive rifle.

I list some .30 Cal that are more accurate than my shooting skills: Evanix Rainsotrm II; Vulcan 2; FX Indy; Daystate Renegade HP

My longer shot to a small bird was at 190 yards. The Daystate Renegade made it possible.

Honestly, I do not expect more from an air rifle.

But sometimes we belive that more money on a rifle will improve our skills as shooters.

Emu....I don't know if you read the post...the only reason for the purchase is to be able to used my light bullet molds it got nothing to do with buying a expensive stupid toy .. it got nothing to do with improving skill or be a better shot .. my longest kill was made with a used .22 cricket compact using 17.5 Nielsen..205 y . You did it with a renegade I did it with a $800 old used pcp .. n I could go even further with a $500 old condor ..so I know for a fact tha expensive rifles are not needed..I could even shot repeatedly cans 95y + with my hatsan break barrels ...now what for me is ridiculous is having 4 rifles in the same caliber..if you sold 2 you could afford one if that's your problem...i was looking for something shorter than a texan in 308 ..next time if you don't have some positive to say kep scrolling down..

By the way..I don't think that the slayer is going to be any better at twice the price..of any .30 rifle even my hatsan bt 65 .30 was great...but there is no other bullpub to my knowledge in 308..

It was not my intention to be offensive.

I do not know the .308 Cal. My limited knowledge in what I suppose is the nearest Cal (.30 Cal) is based on my experience.

I have four male sons. We have always try to hunt together (now when our agendas allow it). So the PCP´s are the end of the air rifle story. First ther were four bb guns, then brake barrells, then sheridans, then Diana brake barrells and then PCP´s. In the middle was the acquisition of 12 GA shotguns.

The PCP´s were the affordable part of the list of expenses. Cars, clothing and education until they get married and started their independent life was much more difficult.

I provide my sons with the .30 and .357 Cals. for the hunts. Lesser PCP Cal. were already individualized.
