Hard to say, but i think squirrel is much more compact. If you take feather of the birds neck it is thin, so if you got massive expanding slug which opens wide, i can imagen that it "cut" of the head.

Tin casted lead 48gr comes in 33gr, hard to cast them, specialy fill them at the top. Accuracy is very bad at all speeds, price...😅

Wetmx.. With softer lead is harder to fullfill the die, specialy on machine. Also softer are harder not to damage in the process, pushing them off the hollow point needle, falling in the basket, cleaning etc.

Next thing i want yo try is shoting with lower speeds. Hiting target at 920fps ia not so realistic, so i would go with around 750-800fps which is let say bettwen 60-110 yards range. Working and testing with those speed would give much more realistic results.

Today i had some more test with brutaly expanding slugs with a new die. Made in 36,2 gr to compare the best from yesterday(nsa) It penetrated from 3,2 to 4,2 inches. Started expanding after less then half an inch and made huge crater. 

Agree, but somehow you need to mesure results betwen. It shows where each bullets stands comparing to others. Also shoting one animal is never same, you can hit bone, maybe you miss all the bones, depends in which part and how thick animal is there. It is a fact that HN bullet mushroom very bad...
