Apparently scopes brake from the reverse vibrations of springers and pistons but pcp are fine. I use a gold ring on a recluse and a texan .457 and have never experienced any internal damage.

Why the 12 groove in the barrel bore. I would effectively polish the bore as well. And if its made with true quality alloys then plenty of all needed for small game. To bad Steve hit a technical wall with the slugs.

 If I recall correctly This kid dumped the air on an aea .50 cal sent the slug down range at 14 or 1500 fps. Now it was a malfunction but it proves air can make over 2000 foot pounds of smack down. So how does one turn that malfunction into mode of operation. Fun ++p ha ha 

Been looking at that aspen seneca and figuring how to upgrade volume to fit 357 or 45 bore. I like that I can get similar power with this texan as a xp and such. My next one just might be a .58 xp though. I flipped a quarter between xp and texan.

Sure there are. They run you about 70 $ and look plastic but are alloy or steel of some kind. Mine work great. I keep them on and have points marked with engine marker and them my scope. If scope breaks I have sights if both break then just have to wing it. How ever this air gun scope is a tuff...

Also the texan makes good iron skillet turkey and Jack rabbit stew. Head shots won't waste feathers or meat. Doesn't matter what size slug as long as you take the head shot
