How many are in your "collection" and when do you decide to stop?

I have about 40 in my collection. Mostly vintage and limited editions. And mostly Crosman/Benjamin at that. Then Daisy and Healthways. Pistols and rifles. A few military repros. I recently added a motorcycle to that. A 2018 Yamaha V Star 250. It's been 50 years since I rode and wanted to get...

    Crosman model 70

Nice! I have a first-year model 70 with the Weaver KV60 3 or 5 power scope made from 1950-1963 for the pre64 Winchester model 70's. Came with original rings and tapped rifle bases. But had to switch to UTG dovetail bases to mount it. Replica of the Winchester model 70 Ranger, which had...

Crosman 760 Variant 1 quad seal

Just clean it up, polish the metal parts a bit with a green Scotchbrite pad. Then replace Orings. I lube the exhaust valve stem on reassembly as well. They can stick open and blow all the gas out past the bolt. And before July '75, the build date code is indeed on the barrel band end cap. Mine...

Vintage wood/metal CO2 rifles - Crosman Model 70 and Hahn Super BB Repeater

I've been told that any serial number under 10K is considered low at any rate. But it does make it first year in this case. As far as I could find in my research so far.

    ID vintage Crosman 760's?

I know that. I was just passing on the info.

Vintage wood/metal CO2 rifles - Crosman Model 70 and Hahn Super BB Repeater

Odd set of numbers? Zeros where the date code should be. reads, " 00009857". From what little I could find/determine, it's a first year.

Why do you still shoot springers?

I still have this first year (1973) rifle. Found a Weaver KV60 3 or 5 power scope for it made for the pre64 model 70's from 1950-63. Weight is under 5lbs, but trigger pull is too heavy for such a light rifle.

Vintage wood/metal CO2 rifles - Crosman Model 70 and Hahn Super BB Repeater

I have a first year, low serial number Model #70 Pellgun as well. Replica of the Winchester model 70 Ranger. Their base model with no checkering and medium walnut-stained beechwood stock for a lower price point. I found a Weaver KV60 3 or 5 power scope on eBay auctions made from 1950-1963 for...

    ID vintage Crosman 760's?

Yours is the variant 1 model. I have 2 of'em. Later models didn't have the fancy engraving on the receivers. Rifled barrels as well, so I don't shoot BB's through them.

    ID vintage Crosman 760's?

Built before July '75, the date code is on the pump tube end cap.

    ID vintage Crosman 760's?

This is my post. I must've deleted the old acct during time I was hacked? I have the 25th anniversary model. Smoothbore, 1991 as I remember?

    Beer and Airguns

Coffee makes me twitchy when shooting. A beer calmed me down. But I quit drinking 3/3/17. Quit cigs that date the year before. I like cigars and coffee these days. Or black or green tea. Wish I could legally shoot outside around here. Could easily do 25yds across the backyard.

Any Regrets? (Airguns you wish you hadn’t sold)

A Daisy long barreled carbine I bought when I was 8 years old with some pop bottle money I saved and delivering buddies newspaper routes while they were on holiday. Looked basically like a Red Rider Carbine No111 Model 40, but with this odd color paint. Like silver metallic with a squirt of...

Custom stock Springers: show us what you have

My Hatsan Striker 1000XS. " S" for Supergrade. With modded model 95 Turkish walnut stock refinished. Gotta make a bracket for the front stock screws though. They don't line up no matter what. Otherwise done. Had to touch up the checkering as well after all the stripping and sanding. I used 18LPI...
