My friend's Athlon Argos BTR 10x40x56 was compared to my Alpha 6 4.5x27x50 and there was no comparison the Alpha blew it away in clarity and brightness. The Argos seemed to really lose it at its higher range magnification.

I might suggest any 60x spotter made in Japan like the resident glass connoisseur suggested. There were examples of alternative Japan made ones on the spotting scope deal of the century post from EBay.

Maybe try using a better scope? Once I replaced my Hawke with a SFP Barra Hero FT I thought the H50s were the same IDK but anyhow the gun suddenly became a lot more accurate. I then bought a FFP version of it but it does not focus closer than 40 yards.
