At what temp does your scope shift ?

Thanks for all the reply. Looks like more testing next time I'm back in the man cave. BTW, I have my Tac Vector 10-40 scope mounted on a 12 fpe springer HW97. Will also test for pellet speed at the same time I check for shifts at different temps. Will report back. Understanding the quirks...

At what temp does your scope shift ?

Been noticing changes in range finding esp in hot weather. Never really occurred to me that there is such a phenomenon until I read an article in hardairmag a few months back. When the gun would suddenly shoot high or low, my initial reaction was to blame the gun or the scope not holding true...

    FX Dreamline for WFTF ?

Does anybody have experience with the FX Dreamline or Streamline in .177 for WFTF ? Wondering how easy it is to tune it down to under 12 fpe ? Also is accuracy comparable to the Steyr 100(over 2k at krale) or the Ataman m2 ($1700 at krale) ? If the accuracy of the field target Dreamline is...

    Break barrel chassis upgrade

Here's a picture of a springer underlever that maybe have shades of your dream aluminum stock. Some wild ideas would be a rail system in the cavity of the alum stock to cushion recoil. Maybe modular like the FX line so you can convert easily fr tactical, field target, traditional by swapping...

.177 Refurbished Gauntlet continues to impress me.

Impressive group !. That's about .75" at 45yds. Wonder how it would perform if tuned to 12fpe for field target WFTF. If it can do the same group, it would be a good project to tackle. Maybe reduce hammer spring, maybe lower pressure to achieve 12fpe. Tried tuning a Maximus regulated at 1100...

    Weihrauch HW97K .177

I bought the synthetic stock version from Krale with a Vmach 12fpe tuning kit. Been practicing for field target. Shortened the stock to have a 12" length of pull. Scope wheel, knee riser and butt hooks were 3d printed. Shooting this more now than my pcps.

Least expensive FT rifle you’d recommend

You have PCP and spring divisions in FT. If you're willing to compete in the Spring division (esp in under 12fpe WFTF), you can get a Weihrauch hw97. If you look at the list at intl WFTF competition. I think over 50% was using the hw97. I bought mine fr Krale for under $400 delivered. Add a...

Beginner's guide to Field Target rangefinding

Do you guys rangefind at the same magnification you used to mark your scopewheel ? I use a Tac Vector 10 40 with the scopewheel marked for yardages at 36x. I noticed that if I rangefind at 24x, the markings are off. What i do now is Rangefind at 36x to find yardage Then switch to 16x to...

    Best scopes for springers??

I have an Tac Vector 10-40 scope mounted on a HW97k 12 fpe (maybe a tin in) and a Tac Vector 8-32 on a Diana 240 (maybe 2 tind) . Holding up so far,.

    My Weihrauch 97 K in .177

Switched from pcps to a 12fpe HW97 springer just for simplicity. Trying to practice for WFTF. I started with buying low end PCPs, tinkering in the hope of making them accurate for field target. With the hw97, you know it's good enough for competition. It's the shooter that has to be tinkered...

    Weihrauch HW97kt

Got a 177 from Krale . Tuned it down to 12fpe with a Vmach kit after a few pellets. Heavy but damn accurate. Still in the break in period. Maybe 200 pellets so far. Shortened the synthetic stock by about an inch, mounted a tacvector 10-40 scope, 3d printed a scope wheel and knee riser. ...

    12 ft-lb spring for HW97

Bought a synthetic thumbhole hw 97 from krale together with a Vmach 12 fpe kit. The 12fpe spring is about 2 in shorter than the 16 fpe stock spring. When mounted the 12fpe spring just extends maybe 1/4 in past the tube. If I were doing it, I would preheat the spring at the end with a propane...
