Hatsan 95 Vortex. Hard to charge

Picked up a new Hatsan 95. Nice rifle but it is a BEAR to break the barrel. My Benjamin NP is nowhere as tough. Is this something which (hopefully) will get easier with time?

.25 enough for humane body shots on squirrels?

Pretty cool trick I heard about a while back. Take some chestnuts (peanuts will probably work as well) and soak them in vodka or similar alcoholic beverage. Place them as bait. Squirrels will stuff their chubby little faces with the alcohol infused nuts and gat a buzz on, throwing them a tad...

.25 enough for humane body shots on squirrels?

A .25 has plenty of oomph for a humane body shot. With room to spare, which a .22 may or may not have.

Disapointed in Pyramid Air and thrilled with Hill pump

Many issues are having an affect on shipping goods these days, most noticeable among them is the accursed COVID virus. Throw international shipping into the mix and things can become much more complex.

Hawke 4-12x50 on Hatsan 95 Vortex

I am picking up s new Hatsan 95 Vortex tomorrow; replacing my Benjamin Marauder. It's going on the market soon. The M-Rod has a Hawke 4-12x50 scope on it I like a lot. Question is: as the m_Rod is a PCP with minimal recoil, will the scope be able to handle the additional recoil which the Hatsan...

    3.5x10x50 vortex diamondback $148 ebay.

Never used a Vortex on an air gun but I have put them into service on a .45-70Henry and .300 Win Mag BAR. Performed flawlessly

    Squirrel hunt

We had a mediocre Autumn squirrel season here in Appalachia. Things are pretty much done for now

Think I’ll stick with the piston

That gave me an idea. 1/4” piece of PVC and some sort of small dowel. Project in the wind😉

Think I’ll stick with the piston

I have two PCP rifles. MRod and a Disco. The M-rod packs the wallop I need for effectively dealing with game here in the mountains. Rifle is just Toooo clunky. The Disco is a quick handler and a joy to shoot. .22 just doesn’t get it done all the time. That’s why shortly the Hatsan 95 in .25...

Think I’ll stick with the piston

The PCP discipline is just too tedious. Plus, I’ll still have my Disco ready for service

Think I’ll stick with the piston

Yes Marauders use a magazine. However I am going to sell the MRod and replace it with a Hatsan 95 Vortex (break barrel)

Think I’ll stick with the piston

Holds the pellets in a hollow tube; kind of like a straw. A push block follows on one end. Pushes the pellets into the chamber one at a time.

Think I’ll stick with the piston

Think I’ll part ways with my Marauder. Very heavy and tedious to recharge with a hand pump. CO2 bottle set up is too spendy. Now I’m having a hard time finding a .25 pellet pen. Hopefully there is one our there somewhere.
